It took me til the *very* end to realize who it was he was talking to. Very nicely done. I appreciated the language, the way his isolation was painted, and his hunger for the ability to *make things* again! Redemption even for such as he, eh? Author Reply: Thank you for your review, MithLuin ..and sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I tried very hard not to give away the identity of the 'visitor' until the last paragraph, although I had left clues. I am glad you liked this tale.

Oh, wow! This is a wonderful tale of Feanor's redemption. In all societies there is a path of redemption...why not for Feanor? Yes, this is very good. Author Reply: Thank you so much for reading, Neilia, and for leaving me such encouraging comments. I am glad you liked the tale.

Oh, an exquisitely beautiful tale. I have not yet read your other story that you reference here, but I will go and read anon! Even those who fall as far into darkness as Feanor did may be redeemed. The subtlety and beauty of his encounter with the Secondborn was so very touching. I always wondered, after reading the Silmarillion, if ever Feanor would truly repent of his pride and arrogance that were the seat of his errors. You made me believe that he truly could. Thank you for sharing this tale! Well done! Author Reply: Hello Rhyselle, I am so pleased you enjoyed reading this tale. Although I realise that certain of Fëanor's deeds were dark, and cruel..that he became "..more and more fell and violent..", I think it was a tragedy, and there was always a hint of what he *should* have been about him. I could not envisage him instantly repenting once in the Halls of Awaiting, his pride was too great - but given time alone in the shadow of his thoughts, I wondered if he would begin to reason out his errors? Even so, I figured it would take somthing significant to break the hold the Silmarils had on his heart. Thank you again for your encouraging comments.

As usual, I am always impressed by how well you write Feanor. You truely capture his greatness without sugar-coating him. It's easy to see both how he would achieve so much and how he would fall so far. I also love how you show what his progress has been in the Halls. I love how you handled the encounter - it was subtlely done and I think more moving because of it. I loved the moment where he asks for the treasures of Feanor - "give them over unto me..." It's a wonderful story and perfect for the season. Author Reply: Hello Rugi, lovely to hear from you again. :) Thank you so much for reading and leaving me comments. I am afraid I have not done much writing or reading and reviewing this year due to family illness, but I hope the situation improves. This tale has been sitting around for a couple of years - but helpful input from Alassiel and nólemë has encouraged me to finally post it.Glad you liked it!
