The Green Knight and the Master of Esgaroth  by Le Rouret 5 Review(s)
FantasiaReviewed Chapter: 14 on 6/11/2008
I don't know how you do it, but every time that I read a new chapter I get more scared. This is a great story; I can’t wait for a new chapter. I'm so worry for everybody, now Dúrfinwen is missing, I was afraid of that from the beginning….
I don't like any person in Esgaroth, no his master and no his wife, don't like her at all. And what are they doing to Legolas? Luckily Gimli is immune to whatever they are using, drugs? Well, I’m worry for him too, they don’t like dwarves…
I think that Legolas got himself in a very bad situation, what can he do without a powerful army behind his back? The dwarves are getting blamed of all those crimes; things are getting very bad over there. I just hope that the messenger dispatched to Ithilien with the news, make Galas to going to Mirkwood along with all his army and Faramir's too, because I can not believe that they will not help, Faramir knows that something is wrong and I doubt that they wont act, well, one can always dream...
As I said before, waiting for more...you are an amazing writer...

Author Reply: Hi, Fantasia ... thank you for your review. It's nice to know people are interested enough that they're speculating about the plot. As far as Galas and Faramir showing up ... well, you'll just have to wait and see, now, won't you?

Thanks!

I love Gimli. I really think that you've done the best Gimli I've ever read. He's such a wonderful companion, wise and powerful in his own right. How he is so cunning and non-offensive in getting Legolas away from Malbeach...how he scolds Legolas for following Malbeach, but then is instantly ready to help Legolas away. What a friend! LOVE him.

I still don't trust Renna. She certainly received her share of insults from her husband here, but I still think she's up to no good. I would feel very badly for her did I not remember Legolas's dreams of the mortal woman with immortal eyes. For her sake I hope that the woman from Legolas's dreams is someone else, but until all is revealed, I don't trust her.

I can't even comment on all that you revealed here--Malbeach's impugning the Dwarves, the Elves gone missing, the not-so-subtle insults directed at Renna. I hope Kaimelas learned some things--snooping around the stables, was it? I hope he doesn't get into trouble. I don't think Malbeach is a fellow to be trifled with. This keeps getting darker and mysterious. Looking forward to more!

Author Reply: Hi, Emily! I'm glad you like "my" Gimli - Peter Jackson reduced him to the repugnant role of Comic Relief; I hated that. I wanted to reflect the Professor's view of Dwarves that he had presented in the Hobbit. And, of course, to please Sheraiah and my beta, Nieriel Raina!

Malbeach and Renna are a puzzle, aren't they? Hold on to your hat; things are only going to get more complicated!

Thanks for the review!

Oh my word! This is getting creepier and creepier. The Master is definitely a slimy piece of work. Trying to accuse the Dwarves of carrying off Legolas' people? And Legolas' reactions are more than a little disturbing--thank goodness for Gimli! And he's right--he needs Bandobras right now!

As for the wife--I am puzzled by her in the extreme! She's a real mystery, and I hope we'll get some more clues about her soon...

Author Reply: Yes, Dreamflower, Renna's a puzzle. I'm glad you're finding the story interesting enough to hope for more clues. Thanks for the review!

This Malbeach is a major disaster, isn't he! Sounds like he's somehow drugging Legolas.

Somebody needs to introduce Malby to the bladed end of a dwarf-axe...

Author Reply: "Malby," LOL. Giving that slimy jerk a cutesy nickname seems very oxymoronic.

Thanks for the review!
