Beautifully done! It had a sad quality to it without losing that sense of love and hope that hobbits have. I loved the fact that Pippin had bought that gift for Frodo and how Merry and Sam made me feel better by opening it. That was so sweet and I would imagine that more than a few hobbits had planned ahead and purchased gifts for Frodo. I enjoyed this very much! Author Reply: Thank you so much, GW, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought that it would be realistic to have Pippin plan ahead a few months, since some people do that in real life, too (some people, not me!)

Memories shared and the realization of the impact Frodo made on their lives - and the impact of the Ring made on Frodo and all of them. A bittersweet day but one shared with those loved most by Frodo and those who most loved him. And I love the idea of Frodo one day receiving that chess set. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you for your kind words, Antane! I like that idea about the chess set making its way to Frodo, too. Then he and Sam can play to their hearts content!

I *sniff* enjoyed this story very much *sniff* Missing Frodo as much as they did, the fellows needed this time together. Author Reply: Thank you, Neilia, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, they really did need this time together, to remember fondly, and to shed a few tears.

This is a wonderful hobbity story. I can well imagine these three friends getting together on this special Yule to comfort one another, share happy memories, feast, laugh, and remember someone who was, is, and will always be very precious to them all. Author Reply: Thank you, shirebound. I think celebrating Yule in this way brought them a sense of closure, after Frodo left so abruptly. They really didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Such lovely traditions. And I'm certain Frodo was thinking of them. Author Reply: Thanks for reading, Larner! I should write about Frodo's first Yule in the UnDying Lands; that would be an interesting plot bunny!
