Linda, as I told you when you posted the unpolished version, this is a most delightful vignette. It has just gotten better now.

They were really, really unlucky weren't they? If they had stayed longer at the market, they might have met Arwen and Eowyn there.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you like this polished version. They were unlucky indeed.I wonder how we miss catching up with old friends by just an instant?

Ah, a delightful little piece. Poor men, but I can fully understand the merchant's excitement. But doesn't Aragorn know that he is gift enough?
Thanks for posting.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed the story.I always imagine Aragorn as feeling he must keep proving how much he loves his wife and child. At least it was the merchant's lucky day!

Enjoyed this Linda. Poor husbands but then if they hadn't stopped in the market they may have made it back just in time to be dragged to the market by their wives!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. As most men hate being taken shopping by their wives, maybe they will eventually be glad they are too late! That is unless they decide to follow the ladies!

Of course! Poor man! Now to wait--and wait--for the Queen to return! At least the merchant has made his sale of the day--perhaps of the year!

Author Reply: At least the merchant is happy, though poor Aragorn and Faramir are not !Thanks for meading and commenting.

Heee! All that haste for nothing. Like most busy husbands of today, Aragorn waits until he's arrived back in his own city to pick up presents for his wife and child. All that effort; and the ladies and children had gone to the market themselves.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed the story. It seems even great Kings share some failings with lesser men!
