*sigh* I liked this ... :-)

Author Reply: Thank you, my friend. I love wondering about the hobbits in the West, how they lived and who looked out for them.

“Imagine opening our door with the key to Erebor!” Bilbo marveled.

How wonderful! The perfect birthday present indeed! And I also like the gem that holds the sunlight long after it gets dark.

Thank you very much, Shirebound!

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea. I continue to delight in imagining our hobbits' lives in the West.

Oh my gosh, I love this so much! I can rarely get enough of stories of Frodo finding happiness and healing in the West. I seriously believe he would have---why else would Tolkien have sent him there?

This is just precious. And I need one of those after-twilight lights---it would save on electricity! Very clever!

I would love to read a wee sequel to this as Frodo and Bilbo go inside and find out just how comfy and hobbity their new hole is!

Author Reply: I seriously believe he would have---why else would Tolkien have sent him there?

I totally agree, of course! :)

Thank you for the sweet review, Lily. *hugs hugs*

What a sweet, gentle and joyful tale for the Birthday of Frodo and Bilbo! <3

Author Reply: Thank you. You know what a joy it is for me to imagine the hobbits living contentedly in the West. :)

"...and when next we meet, beyond the is bounds of Arda, we will have a great deal to talk about..." THAT is what keeps drawing me back to the Good Professor's stories, and those of you who play in Tolkien's world. That sense of HOPE. That sense that "Arda Marred" is not all that their is to our existence, and that none whom we have loved will truly be lost. As always, a Shirebound story is full of Love and Light!

Author Reply: Thank you so much. "Love and Light" is always what I try to convey, and knowing that it's coming through in my tales makes my heart very happy.

Aww, what sweet surprises for Bilbo and Frodo! That was a nice birthday celebration. All that's missing is the birthday cake!

Author Reply: Maybe Elrond will bring around a cake after supper! I'm glad you enjoyed this idea of the hobbits' birthdays being celebrated and honored even in the West.

This is a such a sweet story. It's wonderful to think of them in a hobbit-y home on the island.

I usually don't read stories set in the West but I'm glad I made the exception this time.

Author Reply: I'm glad you did, too! It makes my heart happy to imagine the hobbits living a respected, loved, and fulfilling life in the West.

What a sweet celebration of The Birthday! Those are loving gifts from a beloved king to his dear friends. I love Aragorn's faith and trust that he and Bilbo would meet again and catch up on news and hear more poetry. Truly this is a man who loves his people.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Who has learned better to hope, than our beloved Estel? :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, and that I had something to share for our hobbits' special day.

How perfect the gift! And the key is absolutely perfect! Ah, yes, a fitting gift from all to these two heroes past all expectation!

Author Reply: Thank you! I like to think that Thorin would smile at the thought of Burglar Baggins being the eventual guardian of that key.
