Oh, that was a close shave, almost done in by a flying knife. I do like the idea that both of them wanted out of the arranged mariage. Author Reply: Yes, that knife certainly did come close to getting him. Good thing he has quick reflexes. That agreement was made long ago and without their input. By this time, they both had other plans for their lives. It worked out for them, though, as they did not have to marry each other, and became friends in the process.

I love the bit with the bread and the knife...and Coruwen's amused look! A very delightful and funny story. I truly enjoyed it! Author Reply: I had fun trying to think up things that could go wrong during this dinner, and am gratified that you liked the elements I came up with. It was fun to write.

The knife ending up embedded in the chair was so rich! Poor Coruwen--learning the hard way that he was MORE than reasonable, and understood her plight so well. And I'm so glad he was the one to marry the two of them! Author Reply: I kind of enjoyed writing the bit with the knife as well. lol But so much of that could have been avoided if she had just fessed up at the beginning. ;) At least it did work out and they became friends after all.

Very enjoyable short story. I'm sure that there were lots of people that had 'designs' on Aragorn when he returned to his people, but I liked this idea that this man and Arathorn had planned for their children to marry. Nicely done. Author Reply: Thanks. Yes, poor Aragorn found out about his father's plans in a most unexpected manner. I'm glad you enjoyed this one.

This certainly lifted my eyebrow! "you and my daughter" Oh good grief - what a struggle for an answer. "A sharp pain stabbed through Aragorn as he thought over how to answer." *giggles* - "nearly trapping Aragorn's hand" Oh my gosh - you've got me ROTFL now - "seemed to funnel the water" I really shouldn't be laughing at the poor girl - what a hideous situation to be put in. So much for the bread! I wonder now about the chicken. *sportle* This was delightful - thank you for a very, very nice read! Author Reply: I had a lot of fun reading this review, seeing what caught your attention as you read. I'm happy that this achieved its purpose and made you laugh. :) At least it all worked out all right in the end.
