I really love this little look at Gilraen and Arathorn's relationship and how Aragorn was begotten.

I enjoyed this glimpse of Gilraen and Arathorn and the tiny peek at Elrond. I liked that Gilraen and Arathorn didn't know each other that well yet, it would be hard to get to know your husband when he was gone all the time! :) Very well done, Linda.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story and my vision of Aragorn's parents.

Shooting stars, how appropriate! This was really sweet, Linda. It would have been hard for Gilraen as such a young wife with her husband gone all the time. It's nice to see the two of them growing in their love.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story.I always have felt for Gilraen. She had a hard life.

That's a lovely story, Linda. I really enjoyed the look back at that special day (and night) in Annuminas.

Our Estel cannot yet know his true name, but he shall know that he is loved.

And we do love him.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story. It was reading your recent story that inspired me to write a story set in Annuminas. We do indeed love Aragorn.

Since Aragorn has always been my favorite character as well, since 1968, thank you for a lovely birthday remembrance.

Your stories are always excellent in all regards - plot, writing, characters, etc.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review and kind words about my work. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story. You beat me by a long chalk as it was 1981 when I first fell in love with Aragorn.

Ah--yes--the King's birthday is upon us! And such a worthy birthday at that! Love this story of his begetting.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story.I feel their must have been special portents at such a great man's conception.

The wine that Ivorwen gave her daughter must have been a very special vintage indeed! Maybe the Valar sent the shooting stars as a portent. In any case, a fine vignette. I really like the bit about Gilraen not being deliriously happy with her husband before that night; it seems very real that it took awhile for her to develop strong feelings for him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Aragorn!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the story. As tolkien never said whether Gilraen wanted to marry Arathorn, I felt I could use my imagination.I do see the stars as a sign from the Valar.many Happy Returns to my beloved King!

A wonderful story to mark it with!

I like that you chose to use the star throughout. Being that the Rangers have a star brooch just brings it around full circle for me.

Thank you and Happy Birthday Aragorn.

Idril
