Love the imagery, the gentleness. Must let it sit again for a day or two, but will continue to read as I can.

*Sniff* That's so sad! But also very sweet. The hobits may feel the peace of the earth, but it's not over yet. They still have the ruffians to deal with. Are you going to make the 4 travelers part of this story too?

So very sad about Belle. I am glad to see the Esmeralda is back in the real world with her dear Saradoc again. this is such a lovely story and it fills so many gaps. As always, I look forward to more.

A lovely interlude after the steadily-increasing terror of the preceding chapters. I felt so sad that Sam would not come home in time to see his mother again.

It is also hard to read, knowing that things are bound to get worse in the Shire before they get better.

You're doing a fine job!

Oh Pearl, this is so very poignant. Especially...

"The Dark is gone and the light is shining clean and strong."

"In the pink light of that first warm spring evening, a spring their own Sam had helped bring to Middle-earth though they did not know it..."

I hope time passes quickly until the Travellers finally return. What a journey you've taken us on!

Such a beautiful, beautiful chapter, Pearl! And the new morning that Saradoc and Esme shared was such a delight! I love it when authors write about "love after 40". I used to be one of the "unbelievers" years ago, but now that *I'm* there, its something I find sweet, adorable, and completely enjoy reading. You write loving details into every breath and kiss. I guess that's one of the many reasons I love your Peregrin & Diamond.

The new spring that Sam helped to bring into being, yet his parents and the rest of the Shire didn't know it. Bless our beloved Sam!

You are a wonderfully gifted writer, Pearl. I sit here on the edge of my chair waiting for your next update! Take care.
