Wow....absolutely awesome!!! The entire dream sequence is so well put together and exquisitely written! You portray the hobbit characters most wonderfully here in Rivendell. You have all four perfectly pegged. Marvelous, Pearl–thank you for sharing!

Love that the comfort is going both ways now the Pippin has emotionally come of age.

Seems from the sound of this that Elrond means to help Pippin or to at least make him talk about things. Poor Pippin! He can't tell the others all he suspects without causing them such worry, if he completely understands what he sees. He seems to have been protecting and comforting Esmeralda and had he heard that, Merry would have been very unsettled. Great chapter and I look forward to the next.

I loved the bit with Lobelia. Even though she was so wicked I always like to think that she had a turning point. Obviously Prof. Tolkien did as well as she seemed to be dragged away fighting. I'm glad to see her realizing her mistakes.

I like the way you showed different people; Paladin, with his granddaguhter, Saradoc and Esmeralda, the Gaffer and Daddy Two-foot and then Rosie. She is certainly holding on to hope isn't she? I hope we will get to see her reunion. All of these really need good strong happy endings.

Pippin's dream getting worse the closer he gets to home is rather sad. To want to be home yet he can't really speed up the process. I'm curious as to what he was dreaming, it obviously had something to do with Esmeralda and I hope all is well with her and she is recieving comfort from this. I'm curious as to what Elrond will ask and how Pippin will answer.

Looking forward to more and so happy to have it coming so quickly! ;)

Oooo (shivers, and it's not just the ice cream talking)

I do love your Merry, and his talk with Frodo.

And Elladan, good for him! So observant.

But Esme? What is happening to Esme, that she needs Pippin's bolstering? (Hmmm, a bolster is a pillow. Did I just make a bad pun?) For a moment I thought Pippin might be comforting Freddy, also half-Took, in the Lockholes.

More! Please? (and yes, if I have time I will type in the next chapter. It will probably have to wait until early tomorrow, though, if I can drag myself out of bed before everyone else. Dh is due home soon and he'll take over the 'puter then. And I haven't finished the RL writing I need to do while the children are occupied on a project...)

Author Reply: The next two chapters will be posted tomorrow ;)

Yes, that was a bad pun . . . but a good one :)

Thank you so much for reading and responding :)

Hope the RL writing goes well.

Oh my! An Elrond-Pippin scene is such a rare treat, Pearl. I love it when Elves (or wizards) learn something new about hobbits, and Elrond has had a real "eye opener" in this chapter.

*hugs Pip*

Author Reply: I'm so glad it has worked well, thank you so much. There's another to follow. I had tried this exchange between Pippin and several characters, in the end, it had to be Elrond.

Pip thanks you for the hug ;)
