Sam-and-Frodo  by Katrine 5 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 1 on 5/14/2008
Oh, my goodness, this made me cry. I love fics like this from Rosie's POV, and this is one of the best I've ever read; needed it just now, and the tears too, silly as that might be. Thank you. :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: *blushes* You're far too kind. Thank you!

Welcome to SOA, Katrine! Wonderful to have you here! Ah, poor Sam, I think the only time he wasn't torn in two as when he had his Frodo and his Rose together for he loved them both equally fiercely and it is indeed hard to live with half your heart and soul not at your side as it had been for so long. The sword Frodo plunged into his Sam's heart on the way to the Havens he had already plunged into his own and how terrible it must have been to realize that the most powerful force in the universe - his Sam's love - was not enough to heal him. Interesting that Rose 'hears' Frodo's thoughts on holding Elanor and love that Sam was crying to see that. Well, I won't go on since I love so much of this. I hope Rose would realize she holds an equal place in Sam's heart. FrodoandSam is my favorite character for one would hope that such knitted souls would realize that they weren't really apart after all, even if the whole Sea separated them. You can visit my own hobbity love site - http://www.knittedsouls.com - if you would like. Looking forward to reading your other story!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Wow! Thanks for the review of doom here...I love that. Checked out the website, too, and I'm loving that.

If I can, though, correct you on one point... It may be my fault for not being clear, as an author, but Rosie actually 'hears' Sam's thoughts, not Frodo's. It's Sam, trying to 'give' Elanor to Frodo, hoping his children might be enough to fill Frodo's emptiness. It doesn't work, of course, and Sam cries to see that. This may be totally unimportant, but I just wanted to fill you in. : )

Thanks for the read, though, and again for the lovely review! Hope you like the other story as well; much less angst over that-a-way.

Sam belonged here. Sam-and-Frodo--one person in two bodies....

A good characterization of the two of them. And it's hard to lose half of oneself.

Rosie's wise in her Sam's ways. Now, for the two of them to find their own healing.

Author Reply: Absolutely. Thanks for the review.
