Where Shadows Lay No More  by cathleen 7 Review(s)

This is a very original take on Boromir and a gentle, conciliatory story. I don't think I ever saw a particular bond between Boromir and the hobbits in the books, but the event showed that he must have cared for them. I liked the double perspective of this, and Boromir's part was very touching.

Something is not quite right with this sentence: "Doubtless they have ever seen the like of it before." I think that should be either "doubtful" or "never seen". Also "as I feel they will have many difficult nights ahead as they recover from their dreadful experiences" seems to have one too many "as"; but one of them could easily be replaced by "for" or "while".

And we are gladdened to know that Gondor's son rejoices at the new order, and that some he'd come to love see it.

Author Reply: Yes, indeed, those were my thoughts exactly. Thank you so much for your comments!

A powerful, yet gentle story of the power of love. I love it all. I'm glad Boromir and the hobbits find peace.

Beautiful!!

Author Reply: Me too, they each deserved to have peace after everything they suffered. I thought a little closure was needed for all of them. Thank you Pearl!!
