Elf and Ranger Tales (Post-Quest)  by Legolass 11 Review(s)
telturwenReviewed Chapter: 1 on 9/2/2011
That was incredibly entertaining, and very well-written. I love how you brought out the Ranger in Aragorn while contrasting his rough characteristics with Legolas' need for cleanness. It just shows how strong their friendship is if they can look past/put up with those contrasts.

I just can't get the image of Legolas shoveling rice into his mouth with his hands out of my head! Bahaha. Thank you for writing that.

We had as much fun writing it as you did reading it, telturwen! Thank you for sending in a response, and I hope you enjoy the sequel as well.

Aiii Legolass,

I've been kept so busy at work, I haven't looked into Arda for ages, and I would have missed this new story completely, if I had not had your note dropped into my nest - so big huge thank you from this rodent for both note and story. It was that hilarious, and also very realistic. I wouldn't have been able to resist trying that innocent pepper, as I have to try absolutely everything new in the food line. I remember still being in school, I had a chili pepper plant which was meant for decoration, not for eating, but we braved one another to eat some... frankly, it was hell. Tears flowed freely. So, my deepest sympathies to StarLight, Legolas and Aragorn (they are still friends, I hope?);-) and compliments for the wonderful story to you both!!

It's a long long wait for the Hobbit, is it not? Are there any rumours about Legolas and Aragorn being part of the script?

It's great to hear from you again! I may be off to Egypt soon for quite some time, but I will drop in again before that
till then
hugs
your rodent ever

My dear, dear Rodent!

I've missed you! *giant furry hug* My note said nothing about the story so I wonder how you knew it was here, but I am absolutely delighted to hear from you again nonetheless. I thought you'd be somewhere in Africa or Europe digging up delicious nuts. Hope you've been keeping well, my friend.

Starlight will read this review, and she'd want me to thank you for your sympathies. :-) We can also assure you that Legolas and Aragorn are very much friends still, and all 4 of us thank you for reading our story!

Yes, it's a long, torturous wait for The Hobbit. Unfortunately, there's been no further news about Aragorn and Legolas being in it, though I'm sure the producers know what we die-hard fans want. I wish Gandalf could cast a spell so that they could hear all our appeals and - oh well - threats. If I read more news, I'll let you know. Do drop me a line before you leave for Egypt, and I hope you can try and keep in touch even after, okay? Who knows - a new little story may just find its way to you. (Being ambitious, I am!)

Take care in Egypt.

Hugs
Legolass

Wow, it's been a long time since I last reviewed. How have you been?
I love this story, it's so funny and Legolas was so evil at the end, poor Aragorn LOL
There was one thing I noticed that seemed a little inconsistant but I can't remember it right now.
I'm still having problems with my computor, example: there seems to be certain pages which mess my comp up, this site doesn't fortunately. I need a new computor.
Anyway great Story, looking forward to some more...
You will have more right?
Oh by the way, I'm glad you're still writing
Talk to you later

Hello, Tiari! Yes, I've missed hearing from you, so this review was very welcome. :-) I'm waaaay too tied up at/with work, otherwise there'd be another story from me by now. Sigh...

As for the inconsistency you noticed: actually, I'd long been aware of one myself but had been too lazy to fix it. I don't know if we're referring to the same mistake, but because you mentioned one, I went in and fixed the inconsistency I did notice anyway. *grin* It had to do with Legolas picking up the little pepper. ;-)

Hope your computer woes go away quickly. Thanks very much for checking in!

As someone who has just returned from India, I can fully appreciate this story. Indian hot food is hotter than british hot food, I stuck to korma from then on (which strangely was always green in India... not the funny yellow colour I'm used to)... anyway, enough about my eating habits.

A lovely little story.

Omigosh, SilverEagle. This response to your delightful review is WAAAAAAY overdue. *shakes head* I don't know HOW I could have overlooked this for so long and can only be thankful that I happened to check this site to see if I'd missed any reviews. My deepest, *spiciest* apologies, and you may feed me three little chillies as punishment!

You're right about Indian hot food being hotter than British (or American or Europen, etc.) hot food - and you're wise to stick to korma. :-) Try Jeera as well - it's very tasty without being murderous on an unaccustomed tongue!

Thanks very much for reading and sharing your thoughts.

It is lovely to see a story from you again.I've missed you. This tale was truly delightful.I can sympathise as I dislike all spicy food and am alergic to peppers.

Author Reply:

Legolas and Aragorn will be glad to know they have a fellow disliker of spicy food in you, Linda. Starlight and I, on the other hand, like it very much (though to varying degrees) - that's why we tormented the poor elf. :-D

Thanks for the review, Linda. I've badly missed everyone too!

Lol- and I love your observation: "love how when the mouth is on fire the fussy elf's hands go in the rice" -- how true!

Poor Elf and Ranger - love them, but love to tease them. :-)

Thanks for the review, Grumpy. Missed you.

Mae govannen mellon nin,
So very, very happy to hear from you again. What a charming funny story. Can these two ever leave home without an incident. LOL. Thank you both for this small glimpse. Like my favorite elf I too am just discovering exotic dishes (Indian is my current favorite) thanks in part to my kids growing up, I'm finally allowed to eat some place besides McDonald's and Pizza, thank the Valar!. While I do love spicey food, I think I'll heed my friends advice and avoid the green peppers.

Welcome back,
Eliza

Mae govannen, Eliza, and thank you for your warm welcome. :-) It's so good to hear from friends again. And it's great to know you're now able to eat seomthing besides little orc food, lol! But yes - do watch out for little green things and be wary of dark gravy. That's advice from our two beloved boys. (However, you have full permission to serve them at your weekly big orc meetings.)

Thanks from Starlight and me for the review, and Hugs from me.

This is the happiest story I've read in quite some time. Poor Legolas. But it was all his fault, you know. Aragorn warned him. I hope somehow Aragorn evades his revenge.

Author Reply:
It's nice to know our story tickled you, Estelcontar. Alas - "poor Legolas" wasn't feeling the same way, I'm afraid. Yes, he was indeed warned, so yes, it was his fault. But as for Aragorn evading the elf's revenge --- not a chance! :-D Poor Aragorn - we'll tell him you were rooting for him.

Thanks for taking the time to review.

What a wonderful, cheeky tale! Just what I needed to make chuckle after a tedious day. The description of Legolas in 'pepper' trouble was was a treat. I'm with Aragorn on this one: I always leave the hot peppers in a pile on the side of my plate too.
I really enjoyed this

Wonderful - Aragorn has someone to share his wisdom!

Glad you enjoyed the story as much as we enjoyed writing it, Tithenaru.

This is priceless... I live in southern California but I'm not a native. In my home we don't eat spicy, meaning hot spicy, so it is terrible when I go to restaurants and they have all the spicy, really spicy food, peppers and sauces, The Mexicans, Thai, Philippines...you just can't believe how spicy they eat...I tried once and I saw starts too, so I can related to Legolas. I can eat a little bit of spicy food (only in seafood), but there is not way that I can eat a whole pepper...I went once to a Mexican market and they have spicy candies for kids! and they eat their fruits with some kind of spicy powder...

Great story, I haven’t ever review a story from you (both) but know that I've reading fanfics for years and I do love your stories...Thanks and I hope that you can write more...Thanks.

Lol - I am very used to hot, spicy food. And so is Starlight to a lesser extent. But the chilly pepper she was asked to eat is something else!

Thanks, Fantasia, for reading and reviewing. This may be your first review but I hope it won't be the last time we can interact. :-)
