| I like how you portray Aragorn's feelings for his mother; your writing is convincing and touching. I love the idea that it is Arwen who met him first on his way to Imladris after Gilraen's funeral. Arwen's hope, optimism and faith in Aragorn is the best that could happen to him in that moment, and you describe their meeting perfectly. Good work! | Beautiful! This is so moving. The passing of a mother is never easy and is one of the hardest to endure. My mother is still with us but I have witnessed her grief when my grandmother passed...so this story hits home. Again I am truly moved by this..and I'm glad that Arwen was there to comfort Aragorn with those beautiful words. | Sometimes to truly see the light you need the darkness. Arwen's words are wise. Some cannot bear the darkness they see coming, some watch it arise and walk into it to conquer it. | I like this story because most of the times nobody says much about the great influence Gilraen exerted in Aragorn's life, and you've let us have a glimpse of that in your last paragraph. | Anyone who has lost a beloved parent will appreciate this account of Aragorn's sorrow after Gilraen's death. He had to wonder sometimes whether the Shadow would triumph, and his mother's passing, after fading, had to depress even "Estel". Sensitively written and convincing. | A very good elaboration on the theme of hope, very apt for Aragorn! The landscape mirrors his feelings sensitively. Excellent job. "He rubs his eyes wearily" - should be past tense.
