Strangly, I always imagined Faramir as a teller ghost stories. I suppose he's just that kind of fellow. I was excited that he got to meet Mithrellas; she is such a mysterious character to begin with that she was perfect for the part here. Faramir was true to being a boy - dodging his tutor, climbing up a mysterious tower - and to being himself, wanting to set whatever suffered in the tower free. Whether Mithrellas was a ghost I cannot decide... but that's all part of the charm of the story. : ) -Kitt Author Reply: Hi, Kitt, Thanks for the lovely review.... Faramir still hasn't figured out whether it was a ghost or not - things of our childhood have a tendency to be shrouded in fog as it is - never mind and Elvish encounter! I'm so glad you noted Faramir's kindness, even in the midst of his fear. I think that will be a trademark of his through the years...

I must be weird. I found this ghost story to be neither creepy nor sad, but rather kind of sweet. Faramir’s curiosity sent him to the tower and enabled him to rescue Mithrellas and that was a good thing. Finding out she was his ancestress had to be exciting for him. I would love to know who imprisoned her in the first place and am hoping for another chapter or so to complete this wonderful (hopefully) tale. Author Reply: Sorry, Tari, there will be no more unless the chapter wakes me up in the middle of the night - as did this one! When I had the dream about this, it felt incredibly creepy. In fact, I considered it a nightmare... until I realized WHO was in the tower....

As good a term as any, so stay with what works for you! I've used both daeradar and anadar at different times. A sad tale, and it's indeed a temptation to think Sauron did it! Thanks for the ghost story for us to add to our store of such tales within Middle Earth! Author Reply: Bless you, Larner. Your own work is superb. I am glad this tale gave you a moment of enjoyment!

That was great :D I just love Adrahil! I wish there was more of him around. And I really liked your take on Mithrellas' dissappearance, and how it still affects her decendants centuries later. Author Reply: I love Adrahil too! It's a shame there is so little about him. And then Imrahil is like unto his father. Great folk! *giggles* I'm still not sure if she was a ghost or really imprisoned for all that time. The Muse did not tell me...

What a lovely story - creepy and sad and happy - ideal for a cold and dingy autumn evening. I wonder if Faramir ever saw her again? Author Reply: Many thanks for the kind words, Baggins Babe.

Well this is a nice, spooky little tale! I wonder who did imprison Mitherelles? I have seen dearadar for grandfather, also odhron(Male begatter). Not being a Sindarin linguist I really can't say what is and is not correct, maybe we should ask Fiondil, he seems to be our resident expert on all things regarding Elvish language! More please, Lynda Author Reply: Odd little thing. And it woke me up! Glad you thought it spooky - I did too!

that was a really nice little story--I'd love to see a follow up! Maybe after the ring war, when Faramir & Eowyn are visiting his uncle.....perhaps their son will find her? :D Great job! Thanks for sharing it! Author Reply: Oh! That sounds like a great idea, but there are some other stories that are crying to be finished! Glad you enjoyed this! It came to me either the day before we arrived at ALEP or the first night there... but, of course, they said we were staying in the haunted house!!!
