Ode to a Star Queen  by Kara's Aunty 11 Review(s)

Darn, now you've got me yearning for a jam roly poly with lashings of custard!
There a bit thin on the ground in So.Cal!

Author Reply: Hello Lynda-with-a-Y,

sorry about the delayed response, but for some reason I wasn't receiving notification by e-mail of reviews posted for my fics on SoA. I only realised yours (among others) were waiting for me when all of a sudden I received 20 belated reviews at the one time (I nearly fainted).

Upon reading your lovely review, I rather had a hanjering for jam roly poly and custard myself ... I'd quite forgotten the OC Farlibar's 'romantic' ode to Arwen Evenstar during her canon visit to the Shire. Glad you enjoyed the poem!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

I really like this! Very funny, and well written too.

Author Reply: Hello Earosse,

My goodness, I wasn't expecting any more reviews for this, so yours was a real treat!

It was fun writing this little ode from my very first OC, mainly because the website I used for inspiration had such yummy pictures on it (if I remember correctly, I went out and bought a cream slice afterwards and stuffed my face full of its sugary goodness).

I'm delighted you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed researching it!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

Kara's Aunty ;)

This one's not on FF Net, is it? It's great! You have a good feel for the Hobbits, and dear old Farlibar is so funny, especially when put with great ones like Queen Evenstar. Oh, it's so good.

Author Reply: Hello Faerthurin!

What a lovely surprise to meet you here. And this one IS on ff.net, has been for months - it's probably lurking somewhere at the back of the story lists.

I'm really glad you enjoyed 'Ode', it was witten as a spontaneous bit of fun (and I had a great time slobbering over the thought of those puds) because I'd been having such a good time writing Farlibar.

Thanks for stopping over here, I'm still smiling!

LOL!!! Farlibar is great! Unfortunately Arwen is already married.

Don't let Merry and Pippin hear this ode, though. For they might come up with something like this...

There once was a cook they called Farlibar
Who fell deeply in love with an Elven Star.

But she was a Queen
And had never been keen
On a man other than Elessar ;-)

Author Reply: Hello Andrea!

I loved your wee poem! ROTFL!! Perhaps we could change the word 'man in the last stanza to 'anyone' (as Farlibar's a Hobbit)? This would have the added bonus of keeping in metre/meter!

Delighted to hear from you.

Bis bald...

Ah, how very sweet, this comparison of the beauteous Arwen to sweets! So very right for Farlibar! I find I love the cook from Frogmorton! Heh!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,

Yea, for a Hobbit who thinks he's got no imagination he does not too badly on the poetic front!

I'm glad he's endeared himself to you, that a wee OC could warm the cockles of your heart is an honour for me!

Thanks for the lovely review.

Just delightful!

Author Reply: Hello, hello,

glad you enjoyed it - makes you feel hungry though eh? My mouth was watering at the dessert website...

See you!

(Oh, P.S: Chapter 3 (of 'Much Ado...) has Faramir in it, just because I know how much you like him!)

*cackles madly* Poor Aragorn has a rival! But if Farli should somehow miraculously win Arwen's heart, she might not keep her lovely form--I can see him composing cakes and pies and tarts and other delights to show his love. Pretty soon she'd be a round as a butterball! *grin*

Ah, Farli has lost his heart! Do you suppose Arwen will follow her grandmother's lead, and gift him with a hair or three?

Author Reply: Hello,

no, Aragorn needn't worry! it's just the reaction of any red-blooded male who sees her and our poor cook has discovered he's not impervious!

Chapter 4 of 'Much Ado...' may not be for a day or two, so I'm glad you enjoyed that wee 'gapfiller'.

Here's lookin' at you kid!

Are you having fun with this cook or what?! This is adorable, my dear!

Namarie, God bless, Aunty Anne :)

Author Reply: Hello there,

I know, I just can't help myself! I think though, that I'll leave him alone for a day or two (read some fanfic instead of writing it!).

Nice to hear from you. All the best!

How sweet (literally). Utterly delicious, in fact. And I feel that I am getting hungry! (A very hobbity response, I suppose.) ;-)

Author Reply: Hello Sunny,

Thanks for that!

Writing about all those desserts did put me in the mood for food. I'm feeling a bit hungry now just thinking about them - in fact, I'm just about to tuck into a nice cream slice! And I mean that...

Thanks again for the sweet (pun intended) review!

That is so very hobbity! :)

no mixed berry tart can compare
to the blackcurrant hue in Her hair

Author Reply: Hello Shirebound,

trust a hobbit in love to express himself through the medium of...food!

Thanks for dropping me a review!
