I'm so glad you mentioned this story to Febobe in your comments to my post. I enjoyed reading it again, especially the apology to poor Faramir at the end.

Ah, at last he managed to be thoughtful toward Arwen and Faramir. But he's not all that pleasant to be around when he's ill! Poor Faramir--to find he prefers a trade embassy to being with Aragorn for the afternoon! And that chess match was a pure disaster!

I can so see my own husband trying to play both sides of the chessboard like that! Heh! I'd have thrown the board and its pieces at him with a will! Heh!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm glad I don't have to look after Aragorn when he is ill!It takes a lot for Faramir to prefer a meeting to spending time with his beloved King!I'm pleased the chess scene brought back memories for you.

I had to laugh at the last line. My dad was just complaining that people in prison have an easier time than patients. At least they get let out for an hour to exercise.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story and it made you laugh.I hope your dad is soon out of hospital and on the mend.

I'm very relieved to see Aragorn on the mend and returning to his old self, as no doubt is Faramir. A very funny tale, Linda; well done

Oh, he truly was a TERRIBLE patient! Cross, cranky, irritable, unreasonable--yep, yep.

This was funny--his insistence that a warrior could *not* be having such an infantile illness was quite hilarious, as I am sure that deep down he knew better; he just did not feel up to admitting it!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story and it made you laugh. I was inspired by a scene in Star Trek TNG where Worf gets a Klingon form of measles and complains it is not a warrior's illness!I agree with you about Aragorn.

That was a most delightful story, Linda, and very funny too. Aragorn was indeed a terrible patient, wasn't he? I don't know how Arwen and Faramir managed to put up with him. It just goes to show that no one, not even Aragorn, is perfect. Well done.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm delighted you enjoyed my story.I think Arwen and Faramir each deserve a medal!

This chapter is the best yet, hilarious and also touching, a fitting capstone to an outstanding story.

And I have to laugh at the scene of Aragorn managing Faramir and Arwen's chess game, driving these patient souls to anger - it was very funny.
