Wherever the Prompt Might Lead  by Larner 11 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/17/2008
Wow, "We won the battle with a bottle of wine." :)

Author Reply: Well, actually with an early version of a Molotov cocktail, but we shan't tell them that! Thank you, my Lady!

Ah, that's such a teaser - another incident I'd love to read more about! Well, we already know Aragorn was a great strategist, and he proved that with the attack on Umbar once again.

Author Reply: Maybe I'll write this, although it won't be yet, of course. Maybe I'll eventually write it in "Stirring Rings." You never know! And I love the Lord Captain Thorongil! Heh!

CeleritasReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/5/2008
Trust Thorongil to come up with the Molotov cocktail (well, not really, but you know what I mean). Nice one--this cumulative prompt thing could turn out to be verrrry interesting.

Author Reply: If they intend to burn the Umbari ships in their berths, it seems to me this would be necessary technology to develop. Heh! As for how the cumulative effect goes--it's getting harder and harder to get them in! Heh!

Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/4/2008
Very tricksy of the Captain. ; )

Author Reply: Well, we know it worked, don't we? Heh!

Thanks, GW.

Linda HoylandReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/3/2008
This was very exciting,I liked it.

Author Reply: Am so glad you liked it, Linda. Maybe I'll finally get to that part of the story one day!

harrowcatReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/2/2008
Hmm...the first example of a petrol bomb? Scary waiting time.

Author Reply: Yes, the earliest of Molotov cocktails! Indeed a tense time of waiting until things are right for the attack.

Thanks so, Harrowcat.

Szepilona10Reviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/2/2008
Nice chapter! Update soon please!
God Bless!

Author Reply: I'll be trying to update daily, but am wondering how I'll do when I must add a new element each day! This is supposed to be a series of ficlets, and I've decided to try to keep them each to 150 words. We'll see if I can do so!

LindeleaReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/2/2008
You are writing up a storm!

I am wasting time, and haven't written a word of fanfic since last week.

So good that one of us can be productive, at least... I'm glad I sneaked one more moment online to read this... Thank you for feeding my habit.

(I want to read more of this particular setting. Got any on the back burner?)

Author Reply: Yes, I must hide from life somehow, I find.

Apparently this challenge is additive. Element one was the bottle; today's addition was the wharf. Now I must continue to work those elements and the coming ones into each additional ficlet. Can I keep it up? Dunno!

Love to the kids and hubby and Zoe.

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/2/2008
Wherever the prompt may lead indeed - are you going to follow these up with fuller stories? It's not nice to leave us all on these cliffs you know! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I don't know as yet, Antane. This is for the Henneth Annun list's annual Advent Calendar challenge, which I've not done previously. As this year's theme call for ficlets each containing the previous elements plus one more daily, I'm trying to keep them to a hundred fifty words. How I'll do that when I have twenty-four elements to work into the final story I DON'T know! I may find myself dropping out eventually, of course. Maybe I'll find one of the ficlets calls to be written out, but then maybe not! Don't know as yet what the future might bring.

DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/2/2008
Oh, a brilliant plan! Was your prompt "bottle" or "battle plan"?

Author Reply: Yesterday it was bottle; today it's bottle and wharf. Apparently this is going to be additive this year! I don't know how much further I'll be able to follow this when it's additive. Interesting concept, to add another element each day!
