Sundry Scrolls III  by Raksha The Demon 15 Review(s)
Scarlet10Reviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/29/2009
Poor #III :-(
I truly feel sorry for an employee so abused.
I think he needs to make a complaint at his union rep.

"No Ringwraiths were harmed in the making of this story."
Hick, hick, (sprays juice from nose).
Please add "drink warning next time.

Nice story. I liked the touch of "modern employee" style mixed with such an archaic theme.

Author Reply: Thanx much for reading and reviewing, Scarlet. I do enjoy occasionally stepping out of 'period', i.e. Middle-earth speech patterns, and cutting loose with irreverence and satire.

Unfortunately, I don't think Sauron would allow a Dark Lord's Minions Union; but maybe Third tried to start one after his experience in the Employee Review process.

This is hilarious! You had me laughing out loud! Great job.

Author Reply: Thanx for reviewing, Earosse; I'm glad you were moved to laughter. I did have a fiendishly fun time imagining and writing the story. Bet that the Nine never thought they could be objects of derision instead of fear...

OMG, yes what a punishment! Sauron is more creative than I imagined. *g*

Author Reply: Thanx for reviewing, Lissas Elves. I'm sure that Sauron could get very fiendish with the punishments. He was being pretty nice here, since he still needed the Nazgul able to shamble around and ride fell-beasts and terrorize...Glad you liked the piece.

Oh good grief! I am rolling on the floor laughing! I can well imagine how hideous must that have sounded to a poor nazgul's ear!

You are wickedly nasty, Raksha!

Author Reply: Yes, this entire story was about wicked nastiness; and no one does it better than Sauron, at least after the First Age.

I was never wild about Tom Bombadil's songs either...

Thanx for reviewing, Agape.

Raksha, you're wicked -I laughed till I was hoarse!

How can we tremble before the Fearsome Nine if you go about writing that sort of thing?

As for the Positive Motivation course... and Tom's poetry ... oh dear, oh dear...

Author Reply: I'm pleased that you enjoyed the story, Nesta. At least I assume he gave the Mighty Nine a good insurance benefits package - eternal life, so they wouldn't need much medical care; and presumably an endless supply of black cloaks.

Thanx for reading and reviewing!

It is always dreadful when asked to come to the boss's office and it is also most wise to hold one's tongue when one doesn't always wish to. Been there, done that. Now we find out that fire is not the only thing Nazgul fear! Too bad they couldn't broadcast Tom's voice from Weathertop or Minas Tirith.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Hopefully your boss isn't as bad as the Lord of Mordor! Since they couldn't be killed by fire, I would think the Nazgul would fear ol' Red-Eye a bit more. I certainly would!

Broadcasting Tom's voice from Minas Tirith? It might have made a big difference on the Pelennor, LOL.

Thanx for reading and reviewing, Antane.

You are truly evil! Poor Nazgul, what a cruel punishment!
Although I have to admit that when I read Seventh of Nine I immediately saw Jeri Ryan and her form-fittng catsuit before my inner eye and started howling like a madwoman. The spontaneous association was just too much to bear. *g*

Author Reply: Well, the reference to a certain former Borg might have just been the teensiest bit intentional...Seven was certainly much prettier than Third!

Thanx for reviewing, Soledad.

This is just hilarious and full of wonderful quips!I loved it.

Author Reply: Thanx, Linda; I'm glad you enjoyed the sad story of the nervous Nazgul.

*snorts coffee out through nose*

That was hilarious!

Author Reply: Thanx for reading and reviewing, Steel - I'm pleased you found it funny. Just don't tell poor Third of Nine...

GrayswandirReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/13/2008
Hah! Nice. I'm not sure which bit made me laugh more -- the ending, or this:

Third would have liked to suggest that his Dread Lord face that particular lone Ranger all by his Dread Self.

I certainly don't envy the Nazgul, either way. ;)

Author Reply: Hiya, Grayswandir! Thanks for reading and reviewing; I did have a good time with this ficlet. And I certainly don't envy the bony boys, i.e. the Nazgul; between one wrathful Heir of Isildur and the even more wrathful Dread Lord, they're in a pickle. (and wait until Angmar meets a certain wrathful shield-maiden!)
