How did I miss this one? A nice Faramir gapfiller; I like that Faramir has enough gumption to speak jovially to the King he barely knows about Aragorn's wife's future bedroom. I'd love to see you write the conversation when Aragorn tells Faramir about his time as Thorongil.

A moving story. I liked young Bergil here very much.I personally think Faramir knew Beregond quite well, but your interpratation is valid too. Do you mean "things" in your summary? I just loved the scene for Aragorn and Faramir.I would love to read a sequel in which Aragorn tells Faramir his stories. Author Reply: Thank you. My interpretation of Faramir and Beregond's relationship is that it started when Beregond became Captain of the White Company. I think that before that Beregond loved Faramir as did everyone in the City. Yes, I couldn't leave Aragorn out, it's my doom. He's creeping in as many of my stories as possible. *lol*

A rather sad way to learn the truth of his father's death. Interesting that Bergil would hide within the fireplace, and that he's skilled at picking locks! And that the Steward should have taken over the Royal quarters over the last millennium! And that Faramir becomes the one person within Minas Tirith and the Citadel who is fully aware that Aragorn has a marriage in the works! Nice detail here! Author Reply: Thank you. I imagine that it was quite a shock for Faramir to learn the truth but I understand that the story was kept from Faramir as long as possible so that it wouldn't interfer with the healing process. I've come to like Bergil in recent times - a clever boy who is a bit full of himself. *lol* And I think that it's quite logical that the Stewards should have taken over the Kings's quaters with all the representative obligations and yadda. Oh, and you would't think that Aragorn and co managed to organise a wedding without much planning beforehand. And who better to start with than the Steward? *lol*

I love Faramir so thank you for this story and this topic. I hadn't thought of all the details that go into this story - the love of a man for his captain and son for father that caused them to act as they did. Beregond was "punished" properly. I love also the love that was between Aragorn and Faramir from the first. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you. I think that the whole story is a quite complex one. Beregond comitted a grave crime for which the punishment is a hard one. But everyone knows that it was the right thing to do and I love Beregond for his courage. Bergil knows this and wants to do everything to make the punishment not happen because it's unfair in his eyes - even though it's clear that he can do nothing on his own - except convince Faramir to take a look at the matter. All this makes Faramir think about a way to lighten the punishment that cannot be averted. And he's done a good job, I think.
