I liked it the first time I read it, and I liked even better now. A very powerful vignette in which you get a sample of Faramir's strength, and of Aragorn's wiseness and perspicuity. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed the story.

Oh, Nicely done! What a horrible thing to have to do, but, yes, Faramir IS a very strong character! Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm glad I did not have Faramir's job here!

I've wondered who had the unpleasant job of retrieving the Palantir from the House of the Stewards. Now I know but what a grisly task for Faramir. Very well done. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you liked the story.

This is brilliant Linda. I love how you, and others, think of all the logical things that must have happened and make such wonderful pieces of writing. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you liked this so much.Thank you!

Ah, I like the early days, when the King and Steward are still learning much about each other. Someone, as we know, had to look into that Stone so that we would know the image burnt therein, and it makes sense that it would be Faramir. Good of the King also to see the image and realize what exactly it said about Faramir's character. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased it made sense for you that it was Faramir who first saw the image of the hands.I have a few more "early days" stories I'm waiting to polish.

This is a wonderful gapfiller! I had never thought about how the stone might have been recovered from Rath Dinen--but it's true, not just anyone could have handled it! And of course after his own struggle with the Orthanc stone, Aragorn would recognize the strength Faramir showed with that one. Very well done! Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you enjoyed this and found it a plausible gapfiller.

An excellent response to the prompt, Linda. Although I doubt Faramir sees himself as being as strong as does Aragorn at this point. Images are expressed well, and the entire vignette is very emotionally powerful. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I think Faramir is the very last person to blow his own trumpet!I'm pleased you liked the story and found it powerful.

This is very powerful, Linda! I especially liked that, at first, Aragorn thought that Faramir was showing weakness... but then he realized that Faramir was in fact, displaying incredible strength. Nicely done! - Barbara Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you found my story powerful and liked the way seeming weakness was in fact strength.

Oh my, I can't remember ever reading about what became of the Stone that Denethor used. This is very powerful; I really appreciate seeing the respect Aragorn and Faramir have for one another. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you found my story powerful.I just guessed someone would have to do something about the palantir! This initial respect will eventually grow into a strong friendship.
