Lords of Gondor  by Linaewen 4 Review(s)

Whew! It seems that Boromir was spared, but I feel sorry for Linhir. I liked his character. The scene at the end shows again how deceiving the Palantiri can be. I Gondor would be better off without them. There is too much room for interpretation. It reminds me of the mirror of Galadriel where the usefulness was, to me, also questionable.

I grieve that Pippin is left believing Boromir is now dead for certain when he is not, and that Boromir loses his friend. At least he is but stunned and will recover. Certainly it's likely his healing wound adds to his tendency to remain unconscious now. But Sauron appears intent on seeing to it that the worst is believed in as many quarters as possible.

You had me scared for a moment, but I knew you wouldn't let Boromir die. How sad that he has to loose Linhir. They are so close.

What a joyous surprise it will be for Pippin when he discovers that his dear friend lives.

Aw! Drat! Did not expect the death of Dirhaevel. Though in times like these, I should have expected it. And Linhir. A cruel blow to Boromur. The loss of the company's healer is bad enough, but the loss of a friend ....

Loved the Pippin scene. And the misconstrueing of what the Hobbit saw. No wonder Denethor was confused when he was using the Anor-stone on a daily basis!
