Buttercup sounds like a true darling, even managing to melt the heart of an old shrew. No doubt she brought delight to everyone she touched.

Author Reply: Indeed she did! I shamelessly admit to modelling her character on Phronsie Pepper from Five Little Peppers and How They Grew, who was probably the fluffiest child in the history of literature. But I loved her like everyone else did, anyhow! LOL!

Now, these are qualities that remind me of Pippin! No one could resist his charm :-)

Author Reply: Yes, well, I think that charm certainly made its way down the Fallohide lines!

Oh, how wonderful as this little Luthien among Hobbits found her own place and charmed everyone!

Author Reply: She is a sweetheart! I was trying to show her with some of the traits that appear in her descendants, but also, her character was somewhat inspired by the character of "Phronsie" in Five Little Peppers, who always charmed everyone with her sweetness.

Updating the timeline...assuming you meant "four years after Kali and Ban's birth." Also, I like Great-Aunt Gerda's softening, and Buttercup's disposition of expecting everyone to like her, and liking her in turn...I have to say, Buttercup sounds quite a lot like me! :D (If I'm part hobbit, maybe I'm descended from her? I *am* part Scot...it's not too much of a stretch to imagine I'm part Took!)

0 - Briar Rose's birth. She has blue eyes (like movie!Frodo, heh :) ) and dark hair.
3 - Briar Rose becomes a faunt. Raz is born. This is probably around the time Briar Rose follows Tuk about, receiving trinkets from him to keep.
5 - Adamanta "Addie" is born.
6/7 - Around this time, Kali and Ban are born.
7 - Raz burns his fingers, wheedling biscuits from his gammer and ending up with an upset stomach.
8 - Addie is learning to talk and sing.
10/11 - Buttercup is born.
15 - The Wood-elf Galasgil comes to the village and makes a set of shepherd's pipes for Addie. He teaches her, as well as her brothers and sisters to read and write.
16/17 - Around now, Galasgil departs, much to everyone's (but especially Addie's) dismay.

Author Reply: I am really enjoying your timeline!

BTW, in my reply to your last review, I meant THIRD Age, not Second! *facepalm*
