Only a Second or Two  by Larner 11 Review(s)
KittyReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/8/2009
That prompt fits the ability of the Elves to show what they are singing about even to someone who doesn't understand Sindarin very well, doesn't it? I'm sure the Hobbits are right in what they think is being sung.

Author Reply: Yes, I think you are right, Kitty. And the Hobbits will react to the Gandalf they see within the song.

Thanks so!

I can't better what Raksha has said. Well done.

Author Reply: Oh, but thank you so, Inzilbeth. I so appreciate the feedback.

Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/7/2009
Yes, the unspeakable, unfathomable power of music. I love your descriptions.

Author Reply: Oh, indeed. When I listen to Debussey or Beethoven or Howard Shore, I often feel transported, so I certainly understand the feeling.

Thank you so, my Lady.

PeriantariReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/7/2009
aww what a sweet scene--i like that they liken Gandalf to him being their light.

Author Reply: Oh, thank you, Periantari! Yes, he was the one who lit the way for them originally.

Agape4GondorReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/6/2009
I love Sam's comment... bless him!

Author Reply: Oh, I'm so glad you do! Each responds in his own way, but Sam always tends to see more clearly than he perhaps gives himself credit for.

Thanks so, Agape.

Elven music must have been particularly good at getting to the heart of the matter. Makes me wish I were there to hear it, even if the topic is so sad.

Author Reply: I, too, wish I could have been there to hear. Some of the greatest beauty is rooted in grief as well as delight.

Thank you.

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/6/2009
I love Pippin's image! Very nice drabble here.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, Pippin is very Tookish at the moment, his imagination kindled as it happens with his family from time to time.

Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/6/2009
A wonderful little piece, that not only captures the deep love that the four Hobbits had for Gandalf, but the differences in their own personalities, particularly the un-hobbity intellectual otherness of Frodo.

Author Reply: Oh, am so glad you find that, Raksha! Thank you!

CairistionaReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/6/2009
Another lovely drabble... music does indeed soothe the soul.

Author Reply: Indeed--it soothes and inspires. Thank you so, Cairistiona.

shireboundReviewed Chapter: 6 on 3/6/2009
It's lovely how the hobbits are interpreting and 'hearing' the music in their own way.

Author Reply: Yes, each in accordance to the personality he has.

Thanks so, Shirebound.
