Only a Second or Two  by Larner 6 Review(s)
AndreaReviewed Chapter: 31 on 3/31/2009
Frodo made the right choice in the end, at least from my point of view.

It was a difficult choice, which he delayed for as long as possible. But in the end yesterday as well as tomorrow were unreachable. *Today* was when the decision had to be made.

I liked these drabbles very much. Thank you, Larner :)

Author Reply: Yes, indeed--today is what we have to work with in the now, and a lesson hard learned by our Frodo.

It was a joy to write these, but also a stress, and I've let other works languish too long. Didn't join the "Finish-athon," but perhaps ought to have done so. Now--can I actually get something DONE?

Thank you so, Andrea!

That must have been such a agonizing choice and he made the right one for hope and Hope, if you take my meaning, were both there, one awaiting to welcome him, one he would await and welcome. But how terrible until he knew down to his heart and soul that it was right.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, a painful decision, born of all the lessons he who was made wise by experience had ever taken in. But the right one in the end, of course. And the better part of his joy will be returned to him, once he is ready to embrace it.

Thanks so for following these, Antane.

Very thoughtful look at what must have been going through Frodo's mind as he considered whether to sail or not.

Author Reply: Thank you so, Cairistiona. Yes--accepting that one cannot remain in the past or live in the future without welcoming today is difficult--and for him to find that fulfillment he must sail.

One project down--four more to work toward completion!

Yes, that's what Frodo must have pondered before deciding to sail.

Thank you so much, I enjoyed this series of ficlets!

Author Reply: I do believe you are right, Kitty.

And thank you so for following them with me! Now to post these last few on LJ, and get back to my longer tales, which have languished too long now. Although I am much further along in the next chapter of "Stirring Rings!" Perhaps I'll be ready to post it today!

By dhip or by grave, with hope or with out.
Decisions, decisions!
More please,
Lynda
(Yes, I know this is a little flipant, but it is 10:25 and nearly time for bed!)

Author Reply: The last one in this series, although you know there WILL be more! Heh!

Very nice clincher, since so many of these (all?) deal with Frodo Baggins. I particularly liked the "tomorrow"... "today"--since Frodo's getting increasingly "elvish" I think his perception of time would be changing.

Author Reply: No, not quite all dealt with Frodo, but certainly a good majority of them did.

Yes, I agree about his appreciation of Elvish time-sense changing.

Thanks so for following all of these! Now, to get back to OTHER projects!
