How Do You Solve A Problem Like Asfaloth?  by Kara's Aunty 8 Review(s)
Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 1 on 3/15/2009
I could hear Bill singing that! (I heard the strangest things sometimes.)

That was very funny and very clever and I enjoyed it very much.

Author Reply: Hello Grey Wonderer,

Me too! When I wrote it I imagined him singing his head off (much to the astonishment of the Fellowship) and maybe waggling his lips a la Mariah Carey at all the high notes! Such a pity I couldn't actually film him yodelling away merrily - that would've been hilarious!

Thank you so much for your kind words, you really put a smile on my face,

Kara's Aunty ;)

Oh, he does, does he? Why do I question that? Heh!

Nicely fit in! Excellent filk!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,

I know! It may indeed be hard to believe, but he truly does...

Thanks for reading and for your lovely words of support,

M ;)

LOL! Of course, the answer to the question is that Sam knows how to solve everything. ;o) I daresay a well-timed apple for Bill would go a long way toward mellowing the pony's unbridled (sorry - couldn't resist) jealousy.

Author Reply: Hello cookiefleck,

you've hit the nail right on the head (or is that 'the pony right on the nose'?), Bill is jealous, pure and simple!

But he's so very amusing with it. What a cheeky rascal he is, creating such an unflattering ode to his rival, the noble Asfaloth! Perhaps Sam should just give him a round telling off in the manner of the Gaffer - I think that would work...

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Oh, how do you solve a problem like Asfaloth?
Maybe a dose of Gimmy hair would help!

ROTFL!!!

Of course he likes Asfaloth! What else ;-)

(It's quite good that the Gimmy doesn't understand horse language.)

Author Reply: Hello Andrea,

You're right: it's a very good thing Gimli doesn't understand horse language...

I'm glad you liked Bill's song! Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

This is very funny, given the backstory of your Bill the Pony tale! Don't worry, though, about scansion and anachronistic words--this is a delightful bit of crack!fic and doesn't need any explanations other than that! LOLOL!

Author Reply: Hello Dreamflower,

what a lovely thing to say. I'm glad you enjoyed Bill's cheeky song. It was his parting gift to poor, put-upon Asfaloth before he set out on his part of the Quest (something to cheer himself up on the long trek ahead, no doubt).

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

P.S. What does 'scansion' mean?

You are too much, cousin! :)

Namarie, God bless, Your bloom

Author Reply: Hello wee bloom,

I can see the exasperated roll of your eyes at the noble Asfaloth's treatment from across the Atlantic, m'dear (giggles madly).

Thanks for R & R-ing nonetheless (I'll give Bill a right good telling off for you),

Cousin It.

Cute and silly! I like it!

Author Reply: Hello Esquire_of_Rohan,

Glad you approve! This was just a bit of silliness between rivals, and only really works if one knows the full Rogers & Hammerstein tune, but if it raised a smile, then I'm delighted!!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Love it, love it, love it - thank you so much.

Author Reply: Hello Utfrog,

Oh, I'm so glad you like Bill's cheeky song. I wasn't sure if people would 'get it' if they didn't know the tune to the real song, but I'm thrilled you approve!

Yhanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)
