This is just full of joy and hope. :) Author Reply: Eomer knows that there are struggles ahead, but this is such a symbol of new beginnings and the promise of beauty in his life that he couldn't help but break down in the end, I think. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the review! :) -Vee

This is a lovely, hope-filled tale! - Barbara Author Reply: I love the feeling I get when I read those last few chapters in Gondor - The Fields of Cormallen, the Steward and the King, etc. I feel so HAPPY, so proud and blessed, as though I've actually won a war myself. Then I think of the actual characters and wonder how THEY must be feeling. *laughs* Thanks for the comments! :) -V

Ah--that black horses again may run free in Rohan without fear of being taken by Sauron's folk! A good practice, too, to give the mare some time alone with her foal. Author Reply: Thanks! I thought it was a believable custom, since the Rohirrim had a great love and respect for their horses. Thank you for your lovely review! :) -Vee

That was absolutely exquisite... the sense of tension ran palpably throughout it - and yet there was such a sense of goodness. I loved Eomer's sense of readiness - I wonder how long it would be before any of those who fought the Dark Lord would be able to sleep without knife at hand. Black - gloriously done... I have a wee tale myself and the pain of the disappearance of the 'blacks' is powerful. Well done - Welcome back to the writing fandom - I do hope we see more - your writing is lovely. Author Reply: This was my first time writing Eomer without Lothiriel, and it was such a lovely experience! The "sense of goodness" you mention - it's such an integral part of Eomer, and I love it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and I do hope to write more soon! I'd put a healthy distance between myself and the books, but lately I've been rereading them and the inspiration is staggering, really. Thank you so much for your comments, they're so appreciated! :) -V.

Aw! That was lovely! For the foal to be black was wonderful as the enemies of the Mark stole many of their black horses away. Hugs The Imp (sniffles) Author Reply: I think Eomer would find it glorious and wonderfully symbolic, the birth of the first black foal of the stables of Meduseld that wasn't surrounded by a touch of fear - the fear that it would be stolen away. Thanks for taking the time to comment. :) -V.
