This story reminded me so much of the time our daughter left her small pillow on a train. We had great difficulty getting her to sleep without it. Finally we

Cute story! I can't believe the maid would let the prince's room get so dusty! It is funny, also, that Eldarion went to sleep with Shadowfax. I wonder how Bilbo would feel about Aragorn's son having a toy named after Smaug? Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I was thinking of my own childhood toys when I wrote this.Maybe the maid dislikes dusting as much as I do? I think Bilbo would be surprised!

A delightful story, Linda, and one with which perhaps the Professor himself might have some sympathy. This tale, and your mentioning your own toy dog, very much reminded me of the story behind how 'Roverandom' came to be written. Very cute story. I just adore the image of King Elessar Telcontar getting down on hands and knees and searching under the bed for his son's missing toy. And the ending, with King and Steward happily discussing their childhood toys, is marvelous. The original vignette was delightful, this more detailed one is even more so. Your version of Aragorn as a loving but harassed father is most enjoyable. And the men will be boys ending is most fitting. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review>I'm pleased you enjoyed this rewrite and liked the ending.
