| O excellent! Powerfully written. The description of Sam's memories is haunting, and the little details, like the Ring whispering to Samwise, and bits of Frodo being left behind... I hadn't thought of Samwise needing to go West to find healing once he loses his Rose, his anchor (if such a boat-y term could be applied to Sam), but it makes sense, the way you've laid out this story. I hope there is more in the works. Author Reply: There may be, eventually. I had intended for there to be a second chapter with Sam's family's reaction to his decision, but it got bogged down halfway through and then Eol started tugging on my sleeve and that got Grima looking in my direction, and who knows when I'll ever finish with all these villains!
