Room for Adventure  by cathleen 12 Review(s)
AndreaReviewed Chapter: 4 on 12/1/2009
All was quiet save for the ticking of the clock on the mantel of the room’s fireplace. Pippin chewed on the inside of his cheek, pondering. Had the clock been ticking on his earlier excursion?

Something is happening in the old part of the Great Smials. And it's not only Pippin on his treasure hunt.

I'm curious to know what will happen next. But as an older sister I just have to say: Please be careful, Peregrin ;-)

Author Reply: Something odd is happening indeed....I think Pip will have fun with it though! Thank you so much for continuing to read my story, Andrea!!

Older siblings being infuriating appears to be natural to them. At least Pippin's found ways to pay them back, but it sounds as if Gerontius wasn't always so fortunate when a lad.

Lovely details here, and I can't wait to see where this map leads.

Author Reply: Isn't that the truth? I know exactly how they both feel, as I am a youngest too.

As always, thank you for reading my story, I'm so glad you are enjoying it, Bonnie!!

I so hope they find the piece of paper and examine it, and perhaps allow them to know their own adventure! Although the dreams alone may do that! Heh!

Author Reply: It should get interesting soon.... *Grin* As ever, thank you, dear!!!

Aw, that was beautiful!

Some things never change - for example the minds of little hobbit lads who will be Thain one day! And there will always be older sisters to complain about (I am an older sister) ;-)

But what an exciting end! A map? Leading to lost treasure?
You know, you have to continue this story, don't you?

Thank you very much for this new chapter!

Author Reply: Hi Andrea, and thanks! I'm working on the next part and hope to have it up this week. A bout with the "bug" sidetracked me for a few days, but better now. I'm tickled you're enjoying this story!!

so what did he read in the book, I wonder?

Author Reply: Well.....I'm not sure yet. Hmmm.......

Oh, well done! I, like the lonely room, would love to see Pippin's return. I like his bold, bright spirit, undaunted by fear but rather charmed by adventure.

Author Reply: Oh! Lindelea - Thank you so much, I'm so pleased you liked it!! And thank you for commenting! I picture Pippin as loving that sort of thing, lol.

*Hugs*

It reminds me of treasure hunting in my grandparents' attic. So likely! Love it!

Author Reply: Lol, me too! That's a very treasured memory of mine!

What a fun place for Pippin to find! *hugs him and his curiosity* I'm sure he would be up to searching out every nook and cranny too - love it!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, wouldn't it be a cool place to explore? I'm sure I would have loved it at his age! Thank you for your lovely comments!!

What a wonderfully descriptive scene! I felt I could see everything Pip was seeing.

Pippin enjoyed the shiver running through him, finding that it whet his appetite for more.

Love that. :)

Author Reply: Thank you, Shirebound! Glad you liked that line. I can just picture Pip enjoying scaring himself, as many children do in those circumstances!
