I love the last two chapters. There being good dragons is a delightful thought. Way to go Yew! Now I will read "Count The Stars." Author Reply: Thank you so much, Tari, for reading Yew. :-) It's been awhile since I've been here and it took some time to remember how to get to where I could respond to your comments. I'm so glad you enjoyed Yew and hope you will like Count The Stars as well. Thank you again! :-) Hugs, Pearl

Yep. I figured it out also. It sounded like Smaug building up his stash of gems.

I'm so glad that Radagast is able to continue to visit the people among whom Yew dwelt. And Yew was so fortunate to come to them and to do as he did. I'm so glad he learned compassion from a small Took who went on in his own turn to be the greatest Thain known in the Shire. Author Reply: Yes, it is a wonderful thing that dragon and hobbit both turned out so well. Thank you so very much, Larner, for sticking with this to the end. :-)

Ah, I DO love Yew! How wonderful as he becomes the proper dragon of the East, seen as propitious rather than destructive, as caring rather than devouring! And he will earn that hoard he covets! Author Reply: I was glad to have a place to send him where his lot in life can be so different. I have actually wondered for many years why the west has fearsome dragons and the east has helpful ones that bring good luck, so it's been fun to write about it. Thank you for reading and commenting, Larner. :-)

Excellent! A better traveling companion for Yew I can't imagine. And love his dragonish name! As for his sense of Bilbo while wearing the Ring--PERFECT! Author Reply: aw, *blushing* Thank you so much, Larner. :-)

Poor Pippin and Yew, although Yew will be much happier where folks aren't likely to try to kill him every time they see him.

So, we have a dragon this time as eavesdropper, do we? I'm glad he was able to apparently remain undetected!

Uh oh. Yew sounds smarter that Pippin, at this point. On the other hand, just how smart is he, to be caught in Vinca's room? (The idea of the girl playing dress-up with a young dragon... *snork) Author Reply: Yew is smarter than the average dragon. Hmm . . . that phrase sounds familiar.;-) Yes, Vinca is that sort of girl. Great ending! I liked it how Yew the small dragon became Yinglong, the father of all Chinese dragons. Soon Yinglong had the greatest hoard of any dragon in any realm of the world. That's even more than he had expected :-) It was really a funny coincidence that the first man Yew the Dragon met was named "Yu"! Author Reply: Thank you so much, Andrea :-) Yes, Pippin's pet became very important, and I think he deserved such a huge hoard. ;-) I didn't start the Chinese research until after I was into the story by several chapters and could hardly believe that the person Yinglong first helped was named Yu. That was just too cool of a coincidence. :-)
