This was absolutely lovely, and just what I needed to read just now. Thank you so very much.

The friendship and growing companionship is heartening. And it helps lay the foundation for the friendship they will develop with Boromir's brother in time.

I had nearly given up for the evening, and only just thought to check SoA one last time-- and there was this bit of loveliness from you! I always love stories in which the Big Folk of the Fellowship find a chance to get to know the hobbits a bit better-- especially when it's Boromir, for that makes it so bittersweet! This is just the sort of conversation that they might have had. I'm so glad to be seeing new stories from you!

“I have many stories similar to yours and I like to keep them close to me when we are on these long walks. It reminds me that those are the things that are real, and all this is just for a short time.” What a simple, but genuine thing to say. Pippin's had so much time to think on this journey, and sort out his opinions about thing. And I just love this: Boromir nodded and clasped his shoulder wordlessly. Pippin felt an indescribable sense of pride at this gesture, as though at last fully accepted as an equal by somebody stronger, wiser, braver. A wonderful story. The conversations between Boromir and Pippin, and Merry and Pippin really ring true.
