A worthy depiction of the movie-moment. And I understand the frustration at how things are different just because she is a woman! Author Reply: Yes, it was the movie that inspired this story. I haven't written anything for a long time, and one day I put TTT in my DVD player, hoping it would start inspiration for writing (it has happened before already). And actually, the inspiration has come - this story is the result. I am glad you think the moment is well depicted, I really tried to do it as best I can. Thanks for reading and reviewing. | |

Insightful. Yet, I am not sure that the door to the caves were closed before the battle started. As per the book, Eomer with many warriors and Gimli withdrew to the caves after the wall was taken. I would have thought until that point there would have been comings and goings, though the women would have been herded there before the battle started. I like Eowyn's character though, and the way you potrayed it. Author Reply: The truth is, I am not sure when the door were definitely closed; and I must admit that I didn't think much about it while writing. I had more in mind movie than book version. However, even if we take book version, I suppose that women and children didn't go out much after the battle started; it would be dangerous, of course. Besides, I imagine the caves situated deep in the mountains (with a tunel of some tens of meters long), not just few meters from outside world. Anyway, thanks for reminding me of some book-details I forgot. *blush* I think and hope that my eventual misinterpretation doesn't really affect the later events in the story.
