| Poor Miriel would have done better to accept Amandil's help - civil war would have left more Numenoreans alive than did the Downfall. Good characterisation of Amandil, and a great last paragraph. Author Reply: Civil war between the Elf-friends and the King's Men claimed the lives of many and eventually led way to Zigur corrupting Pharazon and the Downfall. If Miriel and Amandil had ended it once and for all, they might have saved their land from the wrath of the Gods. But if Pharazon had won? *shudders* Thank you for mentioning the last paragraph!
