for it was indeed good homely food, expertly prepared, filling and comforting at the same time, cooked and well seasoned as only a Hobbit could prepare it.

Ohhhh, I'm so hungry now! Lucky lucky Aragorn.

Author Reply: I so agree, Shirebound. Thanks!

What a delicious tale! Although I don't eat chicken you have made me hungry! I loved the image of Frodo making a delicious meal for Aragorn and the others. I cannot cook to save my life which is why I didn't enter this challenge.

Author Reply: I LOVE chicken, so this was fun to write, particularly as in my-verse Frodo once won an award for his baked chicken at the Free Fair. Heh! Thanks so, Linda.

Chuckle....how like Pippin to stir up mischief that way! It was nice seeing how Frodo and the others rallied around to make his boast good; and no doubt Chef Frodo made sure that Pippin had an up close and personal look at kitchen chores! (wink) Frodo's preparation of the squab for Aragorn is a perfect example of the care that all of the quest members took of each other; I smiled to see another glimpse of the love and affection they shared. It's a pity that Boromir couldn't have been there, but I'm sure he lifted a glass on the other side in memory of them all! Frodo's meal sounded delicious, and much better than what I've eaten today! Thanks again for another lovely vignette! :)

Author Reply: Well, to be fair I don't think that Pippin intended to put Frodo in the position of finding himself expected to provide such a meal on such short notice, but it was fun. And Pippin certainly got the job of potato peeler! Heh!

Yes, they have all come to love and care for one another, and it shows now.

And thank you for your feedback.
