I did wonder if Barahir might be our favourite Captain Thorongil in disguise and was bouncing in my seat when I was right! Wonderful story, Linda, and I can certainly imagine that some people might feel like this about thoose poor soldiers. Good thing Thorongil decided to do something about the mysterious disappearances.

You tackled an awkward subject in this story, and did so well. Nicely done. It is a while since I've read any of your stories, and it seems to me your writing has improved in the interval. Not that I'm insulting your writing before; it is just that this one is better.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed this story. I do try hard to improve!

Lovely story. Very original plot. I like reading about all the "normal" stuff that happens in ME, especially where Thorongil is concerned. :D You have a very nice and clear writing style as well.

I hope to read something more from you regarding Thorongil. (insert shameless begging with puppy dog eyes here)

Happy writing.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you enjoyed my story. The idea came to me suddenly after reading various news reports.

I have "Pride of Place" on this site about Thorongil and the "U" of my "Alphabet" is also about him.

I will certainly write more if my Muses oblige!

I told you already how much I liked your story. It read a bit like a mystery short story, but at the same time reminds us of the plight of those who fight, are wounded and then forgotten. Trust Aragorn to try to help them without patronizing them as the good ladies seem to do.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you enjoyed this story and felt as I do that Aragorn would want to help.

Wonderful, and always a timely reminder of those who gave service and fell on hard times. I very much like imagining these 'discarded' men finding a new shelter, and compassionate treatment.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you liked this. I'm sure the new shelter will cater for the true needs of the wounded soldiers.

I suspected that Barahir was actually Aragorn! ;) Very well written. I especially liked the last two paragraphs. :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review,I'm pleased you enjoyed the story. It is hard to truly disguise Aragorn, so i thought people might guess!
