Hello m'dear! Do you know, I've sometimes wondered what happened to Fatty directly after the four Adventurers left him, but I'm usually so wrapped up in the others' adventures that I've largely dismissed his. Bad me!! However, YOU, m'dear, have opened my eyes. Really! You have portrayed his progression from casual confidence to his outright terror so effortlessly. Poor brave Fatty! It takes a special kind of hero to stand and face horror for the sake of friends; but it takes an even more precious one to sit and wait patiently knowing said horror will take days to come knocking at the door! Watching his confidence slip slowly, but surely, into abject terror (in direct relation to the waning of his appetite) was a real eye-opener, and I now have a healthier respect for his part in necessitating their escape. 'Tis hardly a surprise your lovely fic was nominated for a MEFA my dear. And, as far as I'm concerned, you can count on me for a nice, long and wholly complimentary review before the final scores are tallied! Loved it! Cousin Mo :) Author Reply: Thank you so much, my dear and sorry not to have responded before now. Actually on vacation and stealing some time on my sister's computer. What a kind review from you, cousin, and so much appreciated - and even more for that second review you will leave! :) :) When I first got this as my element, I was like what am I supposed to do with this, but I just re-read the pertinent parts of the Red Book, then sat down and just flowed out of me in one sitting, so nice and easy and it's been so well received too on LiveJournal. Indeed I think that perhaps Fatty had the harder part, especially toward the end which would have freaked me out. I had a feeling of this terrible anticipation of evil once many years ago when I stepped out for a walk and couldn't get far at all because I was so oppressed and never found out why but then I did have a much more active fear of things back then and didn't even like walking upstairs if everyone else was downstairs. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) | |
