The Family Tree.  by Linda Hoyland 4 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 1 on 7/3/2010
Again, a lovely treat! The tree itself at least was happy to be climbed by Eldarion!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Thank you again for the plot I loved writing about the tree being happy to be climbed.

A most enjoyable vignette indeed. It rang so true. I'm sure that being the kind hearted, loving, fair and wise-hearted father he was, Aragorn, after his initial displeasure, was bound to reconsider, and act just as he did.

I loved having Aragorn say what he did about Isildur, and the image of the joyful tree.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased that this rang true for you and you liked this glimpse of Aragorn as a loving father.

That's a very sweet tale... Aragorn's anger is very understandable, and yet he is not unfair in his judgment or his punishment of Eldarion. The added detail about Isildur being a good man who did one bad thing is a perfect touch, and I love how at the end, his anger is gone and he and Eldarion have a lovely father/son moment.

And thank you for the holiday wishes--it's very noisy with fireworks here this weekend. :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased you liked the story and Aragorn and Eldarion's father and son relationship. I always feel Aragorn would be a wise and loving father.

We have several weeks of fireworks exploding in the autumn!

It had to happen eventually, if not with Eldarion, then with one of his sisters, or one of Aragorn's grandchildren! Cute story; with a nice happy ending.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I'm pleased that you enjoyed this.I doubt the guards would like telling the royal children what to do! Oddly enough, I'd never thought of this scenario until Larner suggested it.
