| I enjoy making up songs, myself, although I have never published any. I like your "fry" line. Alternate chorus, hah. Dost thou truly wish to hurt me? Dost thou truly wish to make me fry? I actually only remember Do you really wish to hurt em, do you really want to make me cry (and even that I may not recall correctly) so couldn't truly enjoy this as much as I could or should but maybe I should listen to the real song and then read this again. But adorable that way you twisted the few words I do remember. You are so bad! I'm very, very naughty ... You're probably too young to remember the full version of Culture Club's 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?' (unlike me: I am a child of the eighties). But it's annoyingly catchy! In fact, some of the lines were just made for the One Ring - something I realised when the song ran through my mind the other day. The word 'precious' appeared a few times, which made me laugh because I immediately associated that with the Ring. And the title line itself, well, that could be applied to either Frodo or Gollum as they struggle for possession of their prize on the Sammath Naur ... | Oh, dear! I'd NOT expected something like this! Heh! Excellent! Author Reply: Hello Larner, thanks, but to be honest, neither did I. I thought this particular song customisied for the One Ring would feel better, if you understand me ... Hmm. Classic pop tunes seem to be more suited to Harry Potter than LoTR, in my experience. Never mind. Perhaps it's just a bad choice of character/moment to commit to song? I'll get there, eventually. Perseverance, that's the ticket! Thanks for R & R-ing, M ;) | |
