Wouldn't it be wonderful if mischief makers today compensated those they had wronged as Merry did. I think it would do much for their self esteem.

Author Reply: Oh, but I suspect that you are right, Tari! Not only their self-esteem but for the health of their inner as well as outer persons. Thanks so!

*grin* I love it when you come up with these stories in which you weave so many characters together.

Frodo's admonition to Merry, and Merry's response was classic!

Author Reply: I found I had to somehow revisit Blueberry and her people and the situation that brought them together. As I said, when I saw the prompt this was the first story I found percolating in my head, although I finished writing the one about Aragorn first. But having started with Merry seeking to follow in Frodo's footsteps, seeking to become the current Rascal of Buckland, I had to follow through on this one in the end.

What a lovely, heartwarming story. Frodo's subtle but powerful influence for Good lives on in the Shire, and in the hearts of those who knew him.

Author Reply: I suspect that even before the Ring Quest Frodo already had a positive influence on far more people than anyone within the Shire had reason to suspect, and I do hope that he influence his beloved younger cousins to be the best they could be. Thanks so, Shirebound!
