Ah, another who learned you do not insult the Ring-bearer and get away with it. I almost feel sorry for him, at least a little, though he certainly was rude before and if he knew better, he would not have done it and certainly not offended the king too! Dear me. He won't be doing either again. Sorry to be so late in reviewing here.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Oh, yes, he is learning, I hope! And I'm sorry to be so late responding!

Great! A very hobbity way of taking revenge that will leave a lasting impression.

I just wonder how long it will take Reginorn to realize what *really* is happening to him and if he dares to comment on it;-)

Author Reply: I can imagine that with his quick intelligence Frodo is able to be most subtle yet effective in his retaliation for perceived insult.

Reginorn may well be realizing this is not all "accidental," particularly considering the quantity of singular misfortunes he is experiencing. But, then, he's not as yet proved himself quite the brightest mind about, so it may well prove he has to have things pounded at him before he cottons on. Heh!

Thanks so, Andrea.

*giggle*snort*chuckle* Oh, I DO hope we see more of Captain Reginorn as he is schooled in the ways of hobbits. *grin*

Poor guy, he really is both tactless and unobservant. I hope he gets cured of that before the hobbits leave the City!

Author Reply: Am so glad this got a good laugh out of you. Am not certain how much Reginorn might show up in my stories, but somehow I get the feeling that Aragorn isn't going to invite him to join his personal guard.

And I think that Frodo and the other Hobbits will make certain he gets the idea that one does not look down upon smaller people.

Thanks so, Dreamflower!

I think one should give serious thought before insulting another.

Author Reply: You know the old saying--engage mind before opening mouth with stupid assumptions ready to pour out. I do hope that Reginorn has learned his lesson!

Thanks so, Tari!

Hehe. That arrogant captain learned several lessons that day. Good story

Author Reply: I certainly HOPE he's learned something about the devious nature of Frodo's mind and how -- uncomfortable it can be to upset him. Heh!

Thanks so!

Oh, how I love the interaction of the hobbits, especially!

And JRRT did say that hobbits were fond of jests. I don't know the quote by heart, but I imagine practical jokes might well play a part.

What fun!

(Rather an unimaginative fellow, that. I hope he learned his lesson.)

Author Reply: I have imagined for years that Frodo knew just how to pull a prank that would bring just desserts to the butt of the joke and to drive home the fact one was facing a most capable Hobbit!

And Reginorn, like many small people, cannot imagine others being different than he has first pictured them, not until he's been hit over the head with reality several times at least! I, too, hope he's learned his lesson.

Thanks so, and was so thrilled to see chapters from two different stories this week! At last someone is in a position to find poor Pippin and Mittens.

I love the Hobbit mischief! Thank you so much for this delightful birthday story!Reginorn will not insult Aragorn or the Hobbits again!

Author Reply: One would hope, at least, Linda. And I do hope your birthday was joyful. Love to the kitties for me! Lydia, George, and Calli-cat send purrs, Brendi and Melian give happy barks of greeting, and Tamsin at least paused to look at me before she hurried outside through the cat door again. Heh!

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Shirebound. I enjoyed writing it!

How kind of Aragorn to have the Captain's practice garb taken to the changing rooms for him, not!

Yes, don't mess with Frodo or his friends or things will get very, very uncomfortable.

Lynda

Author Reply: Oh, indeed quite thoughtful of the King to have this "help" offered the Man. And if Frodo, knowing it is there, takes advantage of its placement, who could blame him? Heh! We do hope that Reginorn accepts the "correction" with grace and does not ever repeat his errors.

Thanks! Glad it brought a smile to your face, Lynda! Heh!
