Man, I didn't know the Marshes were *that* bad - that's a scary thought! But then the midges were alive and so were the hobbits more so and the very stillness of this land would be unsettling.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I read somewhere that Tolkien was thinking of his experiences in the First World War when he wrote about the Dead Marshes. May God bless you too.

That would be good if the Sea-longing was stilled by other things since she could no longer heed it even if she wanted to, what a great last sentence that is. She gave up much but she gained much.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I sincerely hope too that Arwen's sea longing was stilled. May God bless you too.

Ah, but I can so sympathize with the two of them! No longer a living land, this.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I sympathise with them too as the Dead Marshes strike me as a dreadful place.

In this case the grass is actually greener on the other side of the fence/water!

Catching up with late sent SOA notifications. Loved both of these Linda.

Oh, Shadowfax, you have no idea what awaits you! And you thought the Riddermark was a joy to be in, just you wait, you lucky horse!

Liked the first post too, Linda, for we all need havens!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

An excellent question here! Love the image of Shadowfax running through the Mark with the filly at his side!

I want to be there in that glade with Aragorn right now! Yes, the perfect reason for why he loves the land that bred him!

Author Reply: I'd like to be there too as it is based on woodlands that I love.My heart is in the North, like Aragorn's.
