The Making of a Ringbearer II: Anchored  by Henna Gamgee 5 Review(s)
Kara's AuntyReviewed Chapter: 55 on 11/4/2008
Hello there,

Oh dear! Lobelia with the Ring. It seems odd that Bilbo would leave it behind and makes me uncomfortable to think of her with it. I hope Frodo got it back before he left because I don't see her surrendering it willingly to Bilbo when he comes back.

On to the last 6 chapters.

Maureen :)

The Ring is working on her, of course. Frodo ought to have locked it away with the maps, of course. Come on, folks--think of the documents under the bed!

Author Reply: Ah yes, the documents under the bed. Frodo chose what to put in there himself, though. I would hope he'd remember coming across the will!

Oh dear! Does that little trunk by chance contain Bilbo's will? What is taking Bilbo so long getting back? And more importantly, where is Frodo really? I don't think he's gone to Buckland as he says in his letter, and I too am worried about him staying outdoors somewhere while he's still recovering from the flu. If only he would just tell Saradoc and Paladin what has happened. They won't sit by and let the SBs get away with this if they knew the full truth.

Author Reply: We will see what Bilbo has been up to in the very next chapter! Er, two chapters from this one, that is. Chapter 57. :)

It's always a good day when I get to read a new chapter of this wonderful story. Your characters are so vividly written that it is easy to feel as if I'm right there experiencing the action with them. Marigold was a particular favorite in this chapter as was the Gaffer. Hooray for him for standing up to Lobelia. I wonder if Frodo has truly taken off to Buckland. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! I've just updated; sorry for my perpetual slowness.

Oh dear! I can't imagine what poor Frodo must have thought, when Hamfast was presented with such a dilemma! But I am afraid that he's not *really* gone to Buckland, but is hiding out somewhere nearby, out in the weather, and him still not quite recovered.

And I'm finding myself very worried about Bilbo. I would have guessed that he simply fell ill or injured himself while gone, which delayed him, but Lobelia's confidence that he's not coming back seems a bit off if the S.-B.s didn't have a hand in it somehow...

*frets*

PS: You'll see I couldn't wait till tomorrow! LOL!

Author Reply: Fear not, Bilbo appears in the very next chapter! Well, two chapters from this one.
