Beneath Strange Stars  by Larner 82 Review(s)

I was curious about this time in which Maglor and Maedhros raised Elros and Elrond and if they ever repented their actions when DOriath fell and this is a lovely and hopeful gap-filler. Very nice job and love the song at the end!

Author Reply: I've written one or two tales of the time in which Elrond and Elros were fostered by the two remaining sons of Feanor, and felt moved to write this to show the healing all four must have known realizing that Earendil and Elwing had succeeded in their quest to gain the aid of the Valar to fight Morgoth at the end.

Thanks so! And I apologize for my tardiness in responding to your comments. Life has been particularly trying as of late.

“That is why they did not return to us,” Elrond said. “They could not

A marvelous revelation for all of them, and this is a marvelous gap filler.

Author Reply: Oh, I am so glad you think this, Shirebound. I've wanted to write this for some time, and am glad I finally got it done@ Thanks so.

I have marked the dates on my calendar. I wanted to ask if you'd be able to get away, but didn't, and am glad you answered that unspoken question. When you come again, Panda will not be here. We are farewelling her on Sunday. We've spoiled her silly since that awful diagnosis in October. We took her to visit her beloved ocean and sandy beach last weekend, and she let us know it's time. She's had a good life and has been well and thoroughly loved. For her part, she has run a good race, she has maintained her brave and mischievous face, and she will be fiercely missed.

It will be good to see you. (((hugs)))

Author Reply: I missed Pandemonium so today. I know that healing will come for all of us. You and Poppy and the beasts take care, and love to the girls.

Ohhhh. This is beautiful. I love the emergence of hope, and the way you wove in the song.

So glad to see this.

Author Reply: Not editing is giving you time to read, I see. Am so glad you liked this, as I'd not seen anyone else touch the subject. It must have been healing for Maedhros and Maglor to know Elwing survived, and for the two youths to realize why their parents could not return to them.

I'll be down the 12th to the 17th. Love to Poppy, the kids, and the beasts.

Sorry for late reply here - Nice to see Glorfindel's return. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: It was wonderful to imagine his arrival in Imladris in this manner. Thanks so.

Hopefully the two rascals learned a lesson from their adventure. They were very lucky the eagles found them and sent help.

Author Reply: I doubt they will ever give over their adventurous natures. And I suspect that the Eagles were grinning in their own way.

Sometimes the young fledgling must be allowed to try his wings that he know better what he can and cannot do for himself.

Wonderful story! I enjoyed reading it.

And I congratulate Glorfindel on his new job that he will have for a very, very long time ;-)

Author Reply: Oh, and he will indeed have many years to serve the progeny of Earendil. Thanks so! So glad it pleases.

Great story. Thank you.

Author Reply: And thanks to you, too, UTfrog!

Brilliant reading as usual Larner. Do I detect a different 'tone' or style in this piece - more formal perhaps? Or is it because you are writing Elves rather than Hobbits? Whatever - it works well.
But you have definitely left me panting for more - both of the immediate scene and, most of all, of Glorfindel's arrival and further story in Imladris.
Fiondil made Glorfindel one of my favourite characters and I find I mourn his loss every January so thank you for posting a glimpse of Glorfindel this Month.

Author Reply: I think it's solely because I wrote of Elves this time. I may go into Glorfindel's adventures in Middle Earth in his second incarnation, but NOT now! And I know how much I, too, miss Fiondil's additions to our world.

Thanks so, Liz, and love to the dog!
