Washed Clean  by Larner 37 Review(s)

These are all lovely. Love the kitten! the birds in the puddle, and the talk of the lake. The symbolism of the river and the sea is very poignant.

you know, the further along these are, chronologically, in Frodo's stay in the West, the more poetic they become. Whether that was intentional or not, I don't know, as your style always seems to have poetic undertones no matter what you write. But it's wonderful too, and goes along with the changes you describe in him in your other stories.

So glad to see that Frodo finally found his healing.

Author Reply: As am I to imagine that it did, indeed, come to him as he so desperately needed when he left the Mortal Lands.

Beautiful ending!

And that's how it should be: A reunion with all his dear friends, all sorrows gone and an eternity to spend with his loved ones.

Thank you very much!

Author Reply: And I'm very glad that the series has done so well in your eyes, Andrea. Yes, sorrows gone, a life lived to fulfillment, a heart and spirit cleansed and refilled, and now eternity to anticipate in delight. Thank you so very much!

These are beautiful images of the sea! Even storms around Tol Eressea are a delight for Frodo.

Bilbo can leave his Frodo, now that he is truly healed and can be certain that he will see him again one day.

Really beautiful! Is that the last of it?

Author Reply: Yes, this is now the end of it. We were given five prompts to work with on Tolkien Weekly, and I've managed to add four more.

And I'm so glad you appreciate it, Armariel. Thank you so very much!

Hantanyel for this sweet gift! I have long wished for a present from you. :) Alas the muse did not come up with one to give to you all. This would be indeed be a joyful time for Frodo and Sam.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: You are very welcome, Antane. Thank you so very much!

A sweet goodbye. I love what the Professor said in one of his letters that Frodo and Bilbo would be able to choose the time of their death, so of course Frodo would wait for his Sam! And I'm glad our dear knows that he will see his beloved Bilbo again.

Where is Judgement and Healing that you spoke of. I quickly glanced at your stories, perhaps too quickly because I didn't see that one.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, peace has been granted both of them this time. I certainly hope that Frodo remained for Sam's arrival, so that's the way I've written it, and I am certain that one day all sundered by time and death will find their way to the Presence and know reunion with all they've loved.

"Judgement and Healing" is number 49 in "Moments in Time." You have read it before, but that's okay. I find myself responding to a story that moves me, and then realize that I've reviewed it before but that it had slipped my mind. I've even found myself reading a story and realizing, "Hey--I'm the one who wrote this!" Usually I appreciate it, but once in a while I find myself embarrassed....

It was good to weep out all of the griefs

Wonderfully said!

To Frodo Nienna's "gift" might very well be the most important of all. She gave him back the ability to weep and thus get rid of all his grief - healing indeed!

Thank you!

Author Reply: He's now regaining the ability to feel fully again, and to deal with those feelings appropriately. And we do need to let our pains go, as he can finally do.

And thank you so, Andrea!

What a wonderful chapter, surrounded by such loving care! I love Nienna's TLC the most. In fact I love this so much, I'm going to post it on my 'cheerful' blog (http://choosethelight.blogspot.com) because it's so neat! Hope you don't mind. I will credit you, of course. I would love to see this expanded.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: No, I don't mind at all. And this is inspired by my longer story "Judgement and Healing." Am glad you enjoyed this drabble. Thanks so, Antane!

Beautifully stated.
