Shadows of Memory  by Linda Hoyland 6 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 4 on 4/19/2011
It would indeed be a confusing state to find himself in, having lost forty years worth of memories!

Author Reply: I think it must be one of his hardest challenges yet. I'm glad I'm not Aragorn in this story!

Now obviously, Aragorn is a mere mortal, but given his representation in the books, I'm not sure that "burst into tears" is the best way to put things. If you catch my drift. I mean, it could happen (and I'm sure at some point, he did "burst"), but it seems a trifle out of character. Not the action itself, mind, just the method of describing it.

But aside from that, I loved this chapter. Things have all come together, or at least are making sense, and I'm very interested to see where things are going to go from here. Poor Aragorn!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Aragorn's bursting into tears was deliberately rather out of character to show how the head injury had damaged him,as loss of emotional control is one of the effects.

I'm delighted you enjoyed the chapter.

Ack! Losing 44 years of memories is frightening...especially with no one nearby that Aragorn knows who can tell him that he really IS the king, etc. How is he going to get his memory back? Might be interesting to see what happens if that never occurs...he can court Arwen again. :)

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Yes, I'm certain that Aragorn must find the situation very frightening indeed. All will soon be revealed.

I thought it might be something like this - I asumed Aragorn was not seeing things as they really were.

Some parts of this chapter are absolutely hillarious! I just couldn't stop laughing. So well done!

I most certainly wouldn't want to be in Aragorn's place. He must feel totally confused and sad. I'm so glad you're rewriting this story.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I wouldn't like to be in Aragorn's shoes either. he must feel trapped in a nightmare.

Oh poor Aragorn - it must be horrible to feel so totally lost, and to experience the loss of loved ones all over again, like that.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I feel sorry for poor Aragorn too,it must be a truly horrible experience to have.
