| Why are we so reluctant to accept the fact that we deserve to be happy, to know joy? Elrohir's ambivalent feelings are very real and recognizable. I'm glad Lotariel was able to convince him that he deserved to be happy and I'm glad he found someone to love so soon after his arrival in Valinor. A very mellow and lovely piece, Ellie. It reads just as well the second time around as the first. Author Reply: It seems I once read somewhere that the sadness of the elves made their joy all the more wonderous to bear and they were the more beautiful for the sorrows they endured. I felt that Elrohir and Elladan both deserved some joy to fill the emptiness left by Arwen and Estel's departure. I'm pleased that this story is still good the second time through!
