Fellowship  by Kara's Aunty 38 Review(s)

The heart breaks to read about Sam thinking Sauron had had his victory at last. So it would appear now. What a terrible pain and certainly one I hope our dear was able to express later and not always try to hold it in which would only make it worse. I do hope he would somehow know his treasure had the final victory, even before he sees it with his own eyes so much later.

Namarie, God bless, Your bloom :)

Author Reply: Hello again, m'dear,

lets hope he did. Poor Sam. Always torn in two, even when he should've been whole. We can but hope the Valar gifted him with a sign, or a dream, showing him Frodo's victory over Sauron's lingering evil.

*sniffle*

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;o)

LOL! the hairiest elf indeed! Wonderful. Just lovable, Poor Lgolas. Love this very much. Thank you. Lai

Author Reply: Hello Lai,

delighted you enjoyed it. Poor Leggy - people are having a right good giggle at his expense ...

Including me!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

Alas for those torn apart by Sauron's actions, even after Sauron was defeated and gone. But Sam is stronger than all realize, and in the end I pray they were reunited.

Author Reply: Hello once more!

I like to think they were reunited. I find it difficult to believe Sam had the Sea longing for so many years, and missed Frodo for so long, only to leave the Shire and wander off somewhere in Middle Earth to die when his time came.

Thanks very much for reading and reviewing each of these drabbles! Your kind words of support were very much appreciated.

At least he is still capable of appreciating that comfort at this point.

Author Reply: Hello Larner,

one of the few things he was capable of appreciating at that point, poor soul. Thank goodness for his Sam, always there with a helping hand and words of comfort. No doubt that helped Frodo remember what he was fighting for - his friends and family, and the Shire, of course.

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Indeed, a Man who's always had my heart at his feet--and precisely because he is this way!

Author Reply: Hello m'dear,

he is such a noble and kind-hearted man! Particularly for one so 'high-born'. In fact, particularly for anyone. No wonder his people loved him.

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Oh, in this case he did prove himself far better than any had imagined! Good look at Pippin the Responsible.

Author Reply: Hello again,

ah yes. In this chapter, the fun is 'vorbei' and reality is about to bite our grave little soldier in a big way. But I think, after all that's happened, he's more prepared to fight now - and more prepared to die, if necessary.

Thank goodness it wasn't!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Trust an interchange with our beloved Took to bring such a thought to Legolas. And I'm laughing merrily over this one!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,

oh I am glad to have made you laugh - or rather, that Pippin made you laugh. Sort of makes up for the heaviness of the last chapter, don't you think?

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

It was a terrible sight to see, that last look at Boromir, knowing he was dying, and being helpless to do anything even to comfort him as he died.

Well done.

Author Reply: Hello m'dear,

poor Merry (and Pippin) must've had a terrible shock to see their good friend dying. Obviously, they would have realised that, the Quest being as dangerous an undertaking as it was, that one amongst them might fall. But knowing it and seeing it are two different things.

Poor wee hobbits!

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)

Ah, but a good catch right from the book! Respect in this case did lead to friendship, and good for all of the world that it did so! Excellent.

Author Reply: Hello again!

Thought it was only fair to use this drabble to address the concerns Gandalf had about Legolas and Gimli at the beginning :o)

Even solemn Men of Gondor fall under the spell of this most lighthearted of Hobbits!

Author Reply: Hello Larner,

yes, those hobbits are hard to resist - especially this cheeky pair. At least Boromir was assured of a good few laughs in their company before he fell.

Not that that is any consolation ...

Thanks for R & R-ing,

M ;)
