I really like this. I love the friendship between Aragorn and Boromir, as well as between Thorongil and Boromir, and I like the way you show that. I also like the way that the memories and dreams fit together to show how Boromir's memories return. It's well done, and makes sense. Great job with this, I really enjoyed it. :)

The reforging of the friendship between Aragorn and Boromir beautifully written. I loved it.

I'm glad that Boromir keeps that memory. Excellent as the two begin to speak and reacquaint themselves.

Excellent story, from Boromir's adorable toddler lisp of "Frongil" to the apples shared at the end. I loved the idea of "others had gone west, and with the help of Aragorn and the Rangers had searched the lands far down the Greyflood..." including Boromir. It'd be interesting to peer in on conversations they might have had during that time!

Dear Linaewen: "Reforged" is even better than "The Best Sword Ever." I read "Reforged" first--nothing like doing things backward--and I believe you have done a fine job of portraying the characters of Boromir, both as a child and an adult, and of Thorongil/Aragorn. Boromir's calling the Captain "Frongil" was really cute, and typical of a two-year-old. The dialogue in this story was well-written. The characterization was good too, although I disagree a bit with the portrayal. IMHO, adult Boromir would be as concerned about his own future prospects and possible loss of power should the king return, not just his father's. But that is just my view, and this is *your* story. But Aragorn of the bookverse, who most definitely wanted to be king, would have understood, for political even more than personal reasons, that it would be both necessary and wise for him to win over Boromir, who was prince of Gondor in all but name. You did a very good job of portraying that. Thanks for writing and posting this. Sincerely, Darkover

Aww, this is great! I love the idea that Boromir recognized Aragorn, and that Aragorn invited him to see reforging. I agree with Ainu Laire - we want the sequel to this. *sweet puppy look*

Oh wow, this was simply fantastic. I absolutely love Boromir remembering Thorongil and that memory coming back as they sat in the Council. The invitation by Aragorn for Boromir to join them was also fantastic... though now I want a sequel about them scouting together, heh! Nevertheless, wonderful job as a one shot :P

why did you not come to us? What a natural question to ask. I really enjoyed reading this. Each scene flowed beautifully with canon, and with each segment of 'memory'.
