On a Stormy Night  by Ellynn 7 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 6/24/2011
I rejoice that Aragorn was able to save the child and the mother both, and that he gave the baby Halbarad's name. A wonderful "It was a dark and stormy night" kind of story!

A few minor grammatical errors, but well done and good research.

The childbirth scene..very realistic. It made me squirm.

The ending made me melt. Wonderful ending.

I enjoyed so much writing this, especially in the end. :)

I just loved the ending!

Author Reply: I am glad you do. :) And I am sure that is exactly what Aragorn would do - in the memory of his beloved cousin.
Thank you for the review!

A nice short story. One correction: In actuality it seems likely that a C-section would be very possible given middle earth's level of development. After all the procedure was named for Caesar and was performed in Roman times. That said, in your story, the mother is likely not to have had the strength to survive such a procedure.
Again,a nice job....
Matt

Author Reply: Ok, it is possible that the Elves, in a clean, sterile conditions, might perform Caesarian; I agree with that. ;) But the situation I describe is far from possible, I'm afraid.
Anyway, thanks a lot for reading and for your kind words. :) I am glad you like the story.

That was a most enjoyable tale. I'm so glad that Aragorn was there to help Bereth, and had the courage to try.

The ending was very touching and right. Trust Aragorn to show his love for Halbarad in such a simple and befitting way.

What a lovely tale, and a terrific ending... it's so fitting that he'd give Halbarad's name. I found myself holding my breath just as Aragorn did!

Author Reply: I am glad that the story made such effect. :)))

What a wonderful final line, and very enjoyable tale. :)

Author Reply: Well, in a way, the whole story - the whole 3000+ words are prelude to this one last word.
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, dear. :)
