Well-imagined interactions by the Lossoth youth of with Arvedui's people. I'm glad he grieves for the Gondorians and those who sought to rescue them, and that in spite of their rude behavior he yet saw them as gallant and courageous. And the final prayer is worthy. Author Reply: The end of this part was the hardest to make. I had to completely submerge myself in the boy's character and think from his point of view about those foreigners. (Umm. They were not Gondorians, actually, but yes, I got your meaning.) The OMC was still a child, and a child don't often bear hatred or strong dislike to people when he or she is reared in a certain way... A child could have many interests and many differing opinions about the same subject or person, and so I tried to portray it here. I'm glad I didn't miss too much. And thanks for the compliments! Thank you also for the chapter-by-chapter commentry, Larner. I highly appreciate it. Rey

Alas--Arvedui isn't making a very good impression, is he? Heh! Author Reply: Heh... I came across that section in the Appendices in the end of RotK and thought, "How about those people the King and his men dwelt with? What did they think of these clueless, strange foreigners, with ragged appearance but fine garb?" Sadly I couldn't portray all that I wanted to; but I'm glad you still enjoyed it. Rey
